Ever since the water utility (Pennsylvania American) has stopped collecting the Alcosan sewage fees, the Brentwood government has contracted "Jordan Tax Service" (JTS) to collect the monthly residential sewer fees. Apparently, they gave JTS free reign to set the billing terms. So, they set a 10% late fee, 1.5% interest, and make the bills due 20 days from the bill date, then take their jolly time mailing the bill out. This assures that they collect a whole lot of those late fees! For example, this months billing date was Nov 27, but arrived today, December 5. It is then due December 17, but assuming the same mailing and processing time that leaves just 3 or 4 days to actually mail the bill back. Don't let that "Jordan Tax Service' letter get lost in the stack of other bills - which all have 28-day payment terms at the very least!
Isn't the privatization of vital government services wonderful!
We demand that the Borough renegotiate JTS's billing terms to conform with that used for all other PUC regulated utilities, including:
1. A minimum of 30-days between the bill date and the due date (i.e. end of the month)
2. Non-userous late fees and interest.
Dear Borough residents, please join me in voting for this demand. Thanks.

I live at 3100 brownsville rd. 1st an formost I pay my taxes. I would like to know why there paking meters in front of the apartment building, that I live in ,as a tax payer, I would like to know why we are given parking tickets, for parking there. there should be a permit parking pass for those of us that live there. Regan avenue needs parking lines. This street has been dug up and patched multiple times in past years and we have no more parking lines. The homeowners who have lived here prior know how to park but the multi-unit rentals and all thier company don't know how to park.
Also, they don't care. New parking lines could be a helpful guide. It worked when we had them.

Furniture/Junk has been left in the driveway at 270 Laveton St. for over a week now, it has rained several times since it's been put out. Doesn't appear that anyone is occupying the home currently or that anyone plans to come claim the items. Concerned about critters making it their home and it just general cleanliness of the property.

Cars are continually parked on the sidewalk. It looks like a ghetto street. When we had an assistant code enforcer the problem stopped. Can't something be done about this. It has been going on for sometime.

This woman is a HABITUAL offender. People have reported week after week, year after year. And yet, she never removes. Someone at the boro needs to do their job. This is a walking district.
