The problem, Brentwood boro, what are they doing? Trying to disband your ambulance service. Brentwood EMS had been in service for 37 years and Brentwood council lead by Marty Vickless is trying to do away with them. Brentwood boro contributes only 60,000 dollars a year to the EMS, which costs hundreds of thousands of dollars to operate in personnel and equipment. The fire department and police will be next. E mail and call the mayor and council as soon as you can to support the EMS. Its your life and family in the balance, do it now.

Ever since the water utility (Pennsylvania American) has stopped collecting the Alcosan sewage fees, the Brentwood government has contracted "Jordan Tax Service" (JTS) to collect the monthly residential sewer fees. Apparently, they gave JTS free reign to set the billing terms. So, they set a 10% late fee, 1.5% interest, and make the bills due 20 days from the bill date, then take their jolly time mailing the bill out. This assures that they collect a whole lot of those late fees! For example, this months billing date was Nov 27, but arrived today, December 5. It is then due December 17, but assuming the same mailing and processing time that leaves just 3 or 4 days to actually mail the bill back. Don't let that "Jordan Tax Service' letter get lost in the stack of other bills - which all have 28-day payment terms at the very least!
Isn't the privatization of vital government services wonderful!
We demand that the Borough renegotiate JTS's billing terms to conform with that used for all other PUC regulated utilities, including:
1. A minimum of 30-days between the bill date and the due date (i.e. end of the month)
2. Non-userous late fees and interest.
Dear Borough residents, please join me in voting for this demand. Thanks.

As long as I have lived in brentwood. (over 10 years) crime has been ongoing in this apartment building. The police end up visiting the place a few times a month. Lately they showed up looking for a person who robbed a bank. The tenants are always out on the lawn, high or drunk. I'm sure some good people live there, but the ones that are bad ruin it for the rest of them.
Apparently the landlord is a very old man, and his son runs the operation. They seem to continue to rent to low life people who continue to get in trouble with the law? What can be done to force the landlord to do background checks on tenants? I personally don't feel very safe living nearby. Nor do the neighbors.
Can anything be done to rezone the are such that it cannot be an apartment anymore and must be a home?
3914 Lawnview Avenue Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
There is a handicap parking space at 3914 Lawnview that is no longer used by the resident...she moved. There is a "new" stop sign at the corner of Beiser and Lawnview and also a stop sign coming down Lawnview. Vehicles are parked at the corner of Lawnview and Beisner and all the way up the street on Lawnview making it impossible to make a "safe" Right hand turn from Beisner onto Lawnview. Please use yellow lines on that corner or reconfigure that corner and make it safe for residents who drive those streets. There is just too many vehicles parked on that street.
Elroy School Parking Brentwood, Pennsylvania
Something needs to be done about parking for school pick up. I do not have the luxury or getting to the school to pick up my son an hour early just to find parking. A system needs to be put into place for school pickup . Either the school needs to give the church on Brownsville some money so we can use the lot for pick up or come up with a better system.

I have only lived here a year and a half and have had to call the police a handful of times. Our cars were broken into twice, an intoxicated man passed out in the middle of the road in the middle of the night, suspicious vehicle with an individual in it parked outside for hours on end, which the police confirmed was indeed a cause for concern, and most recent I saw for myself a young man messing with a neighbors car at 3 am (I was assuming it was her son and didn't want to get involved, turned out to be of no relation and was foul play) but he seemed to be in an altered state slamming the car door repeatedly, honking the horn, messing with the lights. My poor 75 year old neighbor saw it too, she raised 4 kids here and never had any problems. I'm
sad for her and sad for us who are having number 4 here soon. We love our neighborhood but are sick of all the foul play. I would hate to see it move from cars to houses!
