MLK Holiday: City Closings and
Trash/Recycling Pickup Changes
St. Petersburg, Fla.
(January 11, 2017) – St. Petersburg city government offices will be closed on
Monday, January 16 in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
During the holiday week of January 16 to 20, the only changes to regular trash
and recycling collection days for St. Petersburg residential customers are:
- Monday
collections will be made on Tuesday. - Tuesday
collections will be on Wednesday
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday collections remain
the same.
St.
Petersburg government facilities closed to the public on Monday, January 16
include City Hall and Municipal Services Center downtown, Boyd Hill Nature
Preserve, The Greenhouse, Coliseum box office and business offices, Enoch Davis
Center, Jamestown Apartments and Townhomes office and Dwight H. Jones
Neighborhood Center, community libraries, Bay Vista Recreation Center, Sunken
Gardens business office, and Sunshine Center.
City
facilities that are OPEN for business on Monday, January 16 include three public
golf courses (Mangrove Bay, Cypress Links & Twin Brooks), Mahaffey
Theater/Duke Energy Center for the Arts box office and business office,
municipal beach concession stand on Treasure Island, Municipal Marina Ship’s
Store, North Shore Aquatic Complex, recreation centers, Sanitation Department
Brush Sites and Sunken Gardens attraction.

Coliseum will be open Monday morning for the 31st Annual MLK Leadership Awards
