This would require significant improvements to install a bus shelter. The sidewalk would need to be widened and I'm not sure it is a viable option due to the median on State St. A bumpout may impede larger vehicles, such as buses, from making a right hand turn at this intersection. I think this bus stop should be removed entirely, since there is the bus stop at Orange & Chapel, which is big enough to accomodate large numbers of people. The city and state could improve this site by installing a much larger, more modern bus shelter.

I agree that this stop should be removed entirely or moved onto the State Street side where there are no business entrances.

I am sure the folks riding the bus don't want to cause problems but with no bus shelter and a side walk which is not very wide they are left with little choice on where to stand and wait. The City should serisouly consider either eliminating this stop (as one already exists one block away) or moving it somewhere else. Thanks for yourr consideration. Olympia Properties.

The fine folks at SeeClickFix (whose HQ is in the building) have organized the community-purchase of two cardboard benches from local start-up business Chairigami. In all weather but rain, the benches give people waiting for the bus a place to sit. The landlord, Olympia Properties, allows SCF to store the benches in the building lobby in the off-hours (thanks, OP).

Not a perfect solution, but good enough for Gov 2.0 work. SeeClickFixed.
