Description

There is a sign when exiting from Lakeshore Rd. W. onto the Gardiner Expressway, that denotes the right hand lane will end in 300m as drivers enter the on ramp to the expressway. This sign was previously covered with a garbage bag by the construction crews.

Drivers move left in anticipation of the merge, and then once the make the turn around the corner onto the on ramp, are forced back to the right by construction signs and pylons. This causes delays and confusion on the on ramp.

The permanent sign of "Lane Merges in 300m" needs to be covered during construction and a temporary sign put near the entrance to the Gardiner exit from Lakeshore Rd. W. so that drivers can anticipate the new/different merge and make choices safely, and with time and notice.
