Homeless people need places to live, and to park if they are living in vehicles. And better that they be able to shelter in a vehicle than to have to sleep on the sidewalk or elsewhere out in the elements.
Please let's not try to sic government on them and make their lives more difficult and unpleasant than they already are.

Oakland City Council unanimously voted to approve the Encampment Management Policy, meant to “protect and serve all Oaklanders, sheltered and unsheltered, and to manage the adverse impacts of homeless camps by balancing the interests of all residents (i.e. unhoused, housed, business community).” In fact, this policy was intended to reinforce laws that are already in existence in Oakland, but that are not being enforced by the city.

I believe there’s no one living in that RV. It was moved from 9th and pine. Those folks are on Union behind the cereal factory.
I’ve passed by it a bunch of times and never seen anyone around or in it.
It’s blocking the bike lane on a high injury corridor. It needs to move to a side street.

D – Do you know of a better spot on a nearby side street? I would suggest leaving a polite note on the vehicle's windshield expressing your concern and identifying specifically where you think it would be better for them to park and why. Of if you know where the owners are camped, go and talk with them directly?
Please note also that the original complaint mentions seeing someone getting out of the vehicle with a dog, so it sounds to me like there ARE people using (and probably living in) the vehicle.
