I totally agree.....if not go to Marion Aquatics they know how to keep people warm!

I agree, it is much colder compared to Marion Aquatics. And this is an indoor pool so it should be warmer. It has nothing to do with the lakes and rivers. Yes they are colder but for one they are outdoors and we expect them to be colder!

Cool water is good for kids and adults too.Takes us out of protected buble environment. I hate warm sweeming pools, cant swim. My kid swims in the cold lake water and always has a cool bath, from birth. Please do not make pool warmer.

Totally agree its to cold. Turn up the heat!!!! Then maybe you may get more people using it.

Just for your information in order to have exercise classes, Lane swimming and Swim Club using the pool it has to be a certain temperature so that you dont raise your body temp so high that you have a your body overheat, thats why you cannot have a warm pool. Ask anyone who does exercise or Lane swimming or Swim Club events, a person will swim faster in a cold pool because you are not getting overheated. Even in a pool you can get warm and sweat. Unfortunately the little swimmers do not get their body temperatures up high enought to not feel the coldness of the water.

too warm of water breeds germs! too warm of water is NOT healthy for the accomplished swimmer. There are more types of swimmers in the pool than the young who are taking lessons. My kids all took lessons their and preferred it over Marion Aquatics,,,,so like anything it depends on your body make up. just like ice turn up the heat and it melts. In the water you cook!!

Completely disagree. This pool is actually warmer than those of both Regina and Saskatoon. As a lane swimmer, I would actually prefer it colder, but not at the expense of the small children. Additionally, the pools in which I took swimming lessons as a child were always outside and often much colder. I survived, and learned to love swimming very early in age.

Go to Marion Aquatics, it's warmer.

Really! We have 2 pools in this city. Pick the one that best suits your needs.

if they turn up the heat in the pool it will cost more money aswell and since this is a city run pool where do you think the money will come from. your pocket my pocket and everyone else in this city who pays taxes. if it makes the swimmers move faster and not over heat than keep it the same if you don't like it stay home and have a warm bath or go to the other pool

The pool is no colder then it ever was. Its contantly at 82-83 degrees no colder then before itnwas shut down!

If you didn't know SRSD 119 is in charge of care taking and the lifeguards/managers are city paid! AND the others are right the Sharks and lane swimmers like it cold. If one of the Sharks got heat stroke and vomited in the pool then it would be closed for lessons anyways.

Just sayin' is right. We would never think of turning up the heat at the hockey rink. There is a reason for everything. The people that use the pool for fitness reason NEED the lower temperature.

I agree the temperature at Frank Dunn swimming pool is much too cold for the safety of our children. As a father myself I am concerned, but I do have to say, the concession stand at the facility is top notch. Just another reason to vote Harper Conservative!

I am disabled and I go there for acquzuises and the water îs so cold for my body. My body goes into full body spasms and really hurts my hips all because the water is way to cold. It's a shock to my system

I agree...this pool is way to cold for little children who are just there to have fun. This has been its reputation for a long time. When I moved to PA 5 yrs ago I brought my kiddies there and they were instantly shivering. They are like little fish but they wanted nothing to do with it. They clearly cater to the athletes. Just make the trip to Melfort or go to Marion Aquatics where it is warmer.

I agree, the pool is way to cold, and I hate to say it, but have you noticed the numbers have dropped on the swim Teams? people are taking less and less interest in swimming and swim meet's. You need to get the children more interested and cold pools are not going to do it. I no longer take my kids to the iceberg pool, that's its nickname!

I currently have my little one enrolled in swim lessons at FJD (figured it would be a good way to pass the team during Easter Break). I will definitely NOT be bringing my child back to the pool unless the temperature is increased! Her lips are almost turning blue by the end of the lesson! I think we will stick with Marion Aquatics!!

i find this funny... i grew up in pa... to countless number of lessons at FJD and swam there all the time, never once did i find it too cold!.. I have a 3 yr old daughter a 4 1/2 yr old step son, and a 3 yr old step daughter when we take them swimming none of them have a issue with the temp. the swim for hours on end... to each there own i guess, if u dont like it dont go for those that do will continue, but dont expect someone to change it just because outta no where it is too cold??... for over the 23 yrs of my life its been just fine.. dont fix somthing unless its broken.. fix the ppl that complain about anything they possibly can

i was there yesterday with my 4 year old girl...guess what...she is now at home with chills and coughing sometimes fever...i think the temperature should be up a little bit...if not we need a public swimmming pool and school should use it as swimming lesson...there you go problem solve...

I do not know, but you have to consider whether or not the pool needs to be kept at a certain temperature for the pumps to work, the chemical levels to be safe, the filter and etc to be maintained. Think of it from every angle guys.

If users stop paying to swim there, You can bet the temperature of the water will increase to a comfortable setting.. Marion Aquatics could stand to increase the temp as well. As far as the chemical and pumps go, there is no barring on it. Don't get me wrong, I really like these two facilities. I'll keep going when I can.

Has anyone given any thought to the fact that this is a lane swimming pool and where the competitive swimmers practice??? That is the reason why the temp is cooler at FJD & the reason why I take my young kids to Marion Aquatics for lessons.

The Red Ski Hill Has Terrain Park For Snowboarders. Don't Mean The Ski Team Goes To Another Part Of The City To Practice. Just Saying. Just Sayin. FJD Is In Need Of Bit Of Maintenance. All Honesty There!

The pool isn't that bad, sure when you first go in it's a bit "Ahh!! I cannot move and I will stand here shivering like you woulden't believe" But once you get moving and all that then you'll get used to the water. Now if you really want to be cold take a dip in the hottub then jump into the pool. :)

It is freezing. I switched my kids over to Marion Aquatics and it is so much warmer. They are enjoying swimming instead of standing there shivering the whole time. I emailed Frank Dunn and they claim their water is just fine and it is not cold. I call BS.

Considering P.A is the 3rd largest city in Saskatchewan, the city should just build a swimming pool (and I dont mean Kinsman Park) that is kid friendly. Kids would be more active and it would be a great place for swimming lessons. Melfort has one for pete's sake.

This is called a swimming pool, when you are at the pool SWIM, this will keep you warm. If not enjoy the hot tub that has been provided.

yup you got it right. you do swim! Even when you still swim in that pool, you are still freezing cold. Go to any other swimming pool. Marion Aquatics, Shaw Centre in Saskatoon. They are much warmer than Frank Dunn. I'm happy going to Marion now. So much better.

Being previously employed as a lifeguard and a pool technician for the past several years, it is by Sask Health Regulations to keep all pool body temperatures no lower than 29C and no higher than 33C. Optimal temperatures should be 30.5C. Hot tubs and whirlpools need to be at 38C to no higher than 42C. Optimal temeperatures should be 40C. This is due to the fact of how the chemicals work in the water to kill bacteria - higher water temperature means it is harder to keep clean because bacteria thrive in warm climates. Now all pools need to be keeping records of this and reporting regularly to their desired authorities. I have swam in this pool - and yes it does get cold but if you are moving around and the guards/techs are doing their job keeping records- there's nothing they can do. Keep in mind outdoor pools are warmer because of sunlight.

Yes, I agree, the water at frank Dunn is too cold. That's why I quit going there. For a while I would still go after a phone call to make sure the hot tub is open, which is often not the case. Also, I have wrecked a few bathing suits in the hot tub there, totally bleached out after sitting in the hot tub once!
