In 2014 the City finalized a Sidewalk Inventory and Rating and ADA Transition Plan that provides the basis for how the City repairs and extends sidewalks (City of St. Charles Long Range ADA Transition & Sidewalk Plan). All sidewalks are rated and addressed according to their condition and proximity to activity centers such as government buildings, schools, etc. They are then grouped in zones and those zones are prioritized. The City tries to execute a repair project in as many zones as possible each year with the available monies, though this will not always complete all the repairs in a zone.
The sidewalks in this zone have been rated and rank in a lower priority. This means there are many sidewalk zones that will need to be repaired first. It is difficult to put a time frame on this, as that list can change from year to year, but this location has been added.
