I agree. While the road is striped for pedestrian crossing, there are no other signs or indication for traffic to yield. It is dangerous - particularly when the road is covered with snow.
People don't stop, they honk, they almost rear end each other when someone does stop...it's a mess, and there is plenty of pedestrian traffic on that stretch.
I had to walk across here once. Both cars slowed to a stop legally as they should. And then out of no where some maniac blared his horn, swerved around the car stopped for me, and missed me by a couple feet. This is still a very dangerous stretch of road for peds. Something needed to be done in the fall.
Yes! I've seen the exact same thing. Something needs to be done now, at least some enforcement or some kind of temporary lights or markers. Completely pointless to have the lines painted if drivers don't recognize the crosswalk and stop.
311 has reported this issue to Public Works requesting a warning or informational sign be posted - reference number 3831039. We also contacted the Police 1st Precinct Lieutenants about additional patrol and enforcement. Thank you!
