Description
A mis-set manhole cover in the intersection of Henry Johnson and State Street emits a loud "clank" every time a vehicle drives through the intersection, 24 hour a day, seven days a week. Multiple calls to the city by multiple residents of the neighborhood have failed to get this resolved.

If you want anything done in Albany, call Mayor Jennings Friday morning between 9:05 am and 10 am when he hosts a radio show on 1300 AM. The number to call is 518-476-1300.

In our neighborhood, we call our Common Council member to take care of such problems. Based on your address, your Common Council member is either Anton Konev (tel # 330-5269) or Richard Conti (tel#436-8546). You may also want to try the President of your Neigborhood Association (Bill Pettit, tel # 426-0079). Good Luck!!

I believe this may be fixed. Didn't hear the ubiquitous clank during this morning's traffic. Will observe and report this afternoon.

Looks like a Gordian solution has been put into place, i.e. a couple of washers jammed into the thing. I guess as long as they are wedged in again the next time the manhole is removed everything will be fine.
Thank you for providing the contact info for local "notables" that correct these sorts of things in your neighborhood. Just left wondering why every time a resident called into City Water to complain, it was acknowledged that:
1) Yes, it was in their sphere, 2) One of their trucks was in the area *right now* and would check it out, and 3) 10 months to wedge a couple of washers, the plumbing equivalent of stuffing a folded napkin under a wobble table???
OK, not *really* wondering... just grateful not to hear that clancking cacophony every 3 or 4 minutes around the clock anymore.
