The trash shown in the photo above was removed. However, there is new trash accumulating already. There are mattresses being use to block off an area for the addicts to chill. This burned out blighted building needs to be removed.
It seems that the city can't manage to force property owners to clean up the blight in the city. The property owner currently has been issued thousands of dollars in fines and still won't bother to even clean up their property.
Although the new owners of this property have cleared the trash and boarded up the property, it remains a blight on the neighborhood with it's graffiti covered walls and burtnout roof. Oakland Code Enforcement needs to use the appropriate means in order to make this property owner comply with Oakland codes.
