At least four properties on this street (Mcnair) have been inspected recently and the property owners were contacted to request corrective action to address the issues such as overgrowth of grasses and weeds among other issues. This lot still has not been addressed to our satisfaction and continues to be a problem. We will continue to seek compliance at this property and will hold the property owner accountable.
Please also note the progress in the past 30 days on this street as a direct result of our inspections. One occupied dwelling has received extensive clearing of the overgrowth of weeds and shrubs by the owner as well as other painting improvements. One other neglected lot has been mowed. One other heavily overgrown lot has undergone extensive clearing and landscaping at a cost to the owner of nearly $1500.00. We realize much more needs to be done to get McNair St. where it needs to be regarding property maintenance issues. Please be patient while we work to hold the property owners accountable for the condition of their property and know that we want the Oakdale community of Hartsville to continue to be a great place to live and raise a family.
