Why would we trade 10+ well used parking spaces for 1? That would seem to be ill advised.
Also, it is unclear to me what the "original space" is. Google street view only goes back to July 2011, but this corral has been in the same location since at least then.

What Infrastructure; why would people riding bicycles downtown have to contribute directly (other than taxes of course) to the maintenance of the parking garages when they aren't using them?
Should we also stop maintaining the sidewalks leading to downtown because walkers aren't using the garages too?
Once again, your user name implies a lack of infrastructure in the City of Burlington, but your comment implies that bike infrastructure isn't really important to you. Perhaps you should change your user name to be "What Automobile Infrastructure".

It is well known that the 2014 parking rate increase has improved the Traffic Fund, enabling DPW to improve maintenance of the parking garages. There is also a movement to discontinue free Sunday parking, to help improve the fund, but this currently been rejected
Point being, the bikes are not planned to be parked in that spot, it is planned for a metered spot, which will help the traffic fund, which improves the parking garages, but probably helps to make Burlington more bicycle friendly as you all want.
I never said that cyclists have to contribute towards parking garages nor did I say that cyclists don't add anything to City Funds. And look it needs to be move one space and everyone is happy. Cyclists need to relax, no ones attacking you. Just stating facts.

"Cyclists need to relax, no ones attacking you. Just stating facts."
It's funny that you say that no one is attacking bicyclists, because as you know I was literally attacked in the street because of ignorance and lack of infrastructure. Relax?
It's unfortunate that people get jumpy about these kinds of things, but it's not without reason.

You mentioned you had an incident with an aggressive driver. But you were attacked? Did you file a police report? Did you sustain any injuries or go to the hospital?
My comment was in regards to this discussion.
