Description

A Pedestrian crosswalk signal is needed at the intersection of Williams Ave & Monroe Street (by the Embassy Suites Hotel) at/by Big Spring Park asap. I walk my 3 dogs at Big Spring Park every day. With all the construction going on, we have to go though the parking garage to the 2nd level, go down the stairs & cross the street in front of the VBC at the pedestrian crossing. In order for us to get back to our vehicle (parked in front of the Eternal Flame) we walk around the fountain at the far end and loop back around till we get to the big main fountain. The tunnel & stairwell is blocked due to construction; so getting back to our vehicle this way is impossible. So, the only other way of getting from this side of the park back to the parking area is to go up the stairs at the side of the fountain and cross the street. Problem is, there is no pedestrian croswalk signal that allows you to cross from this side of the street (Monroe to Williams) to the other. To make matters worse, if we just stay on the same side of the street and want to walk down Williams Ave to get back to our vehicle (right in front of where the old Holiday Inn was) about 50 feet in, the sidewalk abruptly ends and we end up walking in the middle of the right lane. Our walking route has us crossing twice & each time we cross, I'm SOOO scared & petrified one of us will wind up getting hit...PLEASE put up a pedestrian crosswalk signal where we can get from one side of Big Spring Park to the other ASAP...
