Description
the stretch of road coming out of the ESP heading up to Swan St towards State St has signs no stopping on the right side of the street. yet on sunday there are always cars parked on both sides of the street in this stretch of the road. it makes it very difficult to travel up the hill from the ESP especially in the winter months yet no one seems to say anything about it. what are the rules for this area

Parking is a serious issue in this neighborhood because of people who choose to live elsewhere and commute in.

to john, i posted this comment about a month or so ago. numerous people want it fixed but nothing has become of it. the times union has not put it in thier paper despite so many wanting it fixed. i even send an email to "getting there" from the paper but got no reply in any form.

I saw this on "Getting There" on the TU blog. It is not commuters who cause this problem. It is almost always the parishioners of the church on the corner of Swan and Lancaster. There are church days in which they park everywhere and anywhere and then event days in which they do the same. The blog suggested calling the non-emergency number of the local APD, and I think that is what I am going to do.

sometime between present day and when i posted this the no stopping signs on that side of the street have all been taking down. i guess that means the city of albany doesnt care. they will care when a passing vehicle hits one of those parked card because of limited room.
