I agree that this a very dangerous intersection. In particular the intersection of Monmouth street and 10th Street needs a stop sign going north. Cars race through this intersection and traffic on 10th. Street is subject being in an accident. There are also many pedestrians at risk

The City of Jersey City has a serious problem keeping up with roadway painting needs. A city of this size should have the capacity to do this in-house, yet as of 3 years ago, all painting had to go to an outside vendor. This causes delays the the task list just keeps on getting longer. For example, the guide lines for the "STOP" lettering at 1st/Grove has been there for MANY MONTHS and still no paint. A basic DPW capacity that simply isn't done.

They really need to reassess all the lights, stop signs, etc

It's now 4 months after I posted this issue and NOTHING has been done. I was almost hit by a car that didn't slow down even though I was still crossing with my dog. I had to run to the other side. It's so unacceptable.

Thank you for submitting this request and we apologize for the delayed response. Based on our traffic study, neither a traffic signal nor an all-way stop control is warranted at this intersection. However, this intersection is currently on the City's striping list. We will follow up with the date this will be completed.

This location was added to the roadway striping master list. This work will be completed in Spring 2018 (4 months).
