Description
From my business viewpoint at Glenwood Village Exxon, it is a terrible eyesore. I have spent a lot of aesthetic $ to make the business look professional and the island in between Lake Boone Trail and Glenwood Ave. does not parallel our efforts. Glenwood Ave is the premier entry into our city and this island is embarrassing for Raleigh and Glenwood Village!!

Bryan, I applaud your continued efforts to make your business a part of the community. I will add that this island often impairs visibility when trying to turn onto Oberlin or Glenwood off of Lake Boone Trail, as the grass and trees are almost always overgrown.

I'll note that the limited visibility is mainly in the summer time when the bush and trees along this corridor and across from Glenwood Village Exxon are in full bloom. I lived in this area for almost seven years and constantly had to pull out 85% sure that nothing was coming. Thank you for looking in to this. I love this tool and really appreciate the level of responsiveness!

The one block service road between Lake Boone Trail and Oberlin Road is in terrible condition. If DOT is supposed to maintain it, they are not doing their job. It is heavily traveled by customers of Glenwood Shopping Center and the 91 condominium homes using the street daily. I have sent an email to Ms. Anderson at DOT. I hope it gets their attention and something is done.

I agree, this area could look way better.

The Urban Forestry Division will take a look at the tree in this area, I will provide an update once I hear back from them.

The City of Raleigh has responded quickly to our needs and a big THANKS is in order, so thank you!! They trimmed the trees and its looking better already. However, I would also ask that something is done about the ground cover as well.....vines, Yucca bushes and evergreen growing over the curbs on both Glenwood and Lake Boone on the island. I see City of Raleigh keeps the grass trimmed and it would certainly make it easier for that to happen if the this is removed as well. Again thanks for your promptness!

The area has been cleaned of debris and vegetation, the tree has been trimmed and the area mulched.
