Description
Another "revenue only" speed trap, ostensibly in the name of student safety - adult high school nearby. Meanwhile, everyday about 315pm, cars line up 50 deep to turn onto the DVP ramp, while students cross the mouth of the ramp walking to the subway station. If Police have time to spend in the area and want to improve vehicle and pedestrian safety, they should can the speed trap and control alternating foot and car traffic through this area. That would enhance student, and driver safety. The radar trap does not, stopping only cars going 65kph on a wide open three lane bridge with nary a pedestrian in sight.

I was rear ended here several years ago...
Toronto's finest decided to set up a RIDE program on the DVP ramp, just after the crosswalk, just around the bend out of any approaching driver's line of sight. As I was stopped speaking to a RIDE officer, I was rear ended from behind.
Did I mention this was a Tuesday night and it was absolutely bucketing rain. Another wonderful judgement call by Toronto's finest.
This is already a dangerous road configuration combining a busy bridge, traffic light, a highway onramp, and a educational facility with crosswalk. The constant police "interference" only contributes to this. They are not helping safety at all with their current presence at this location.
