Description

This issuse is just not in the Blakney Area off of Rea Rd. It is now all over the Charlotte Area. This past year the city has decided to put a hard rubber/plastic overlay on all curb cuts. The overlay is completely covered in raised knobs. This is very dangerous, when a wheelchair goes down the curb cut the knobs block the front casters from turning making a sudden stop with the result of being thrown out of the wheelchair. It is extrememly difficult and dangerous when I am carrying my son or any item. Most of all to be assured that I won't fall out I back into the street. This way the front casters are following not leading. That makes me feel very uncomfortable backing into traffic.
