OMG thank you sooo much for letting me know. You are the best. I live right behind that building, at 620 Monterey Street, and it is a disgusting mess that I hate living next to. It is dangerous bc of all of the garbage, rats, it smells and looks so horrible, and there are always ppl there urinating , defecating , leaving trash, drinking, doing drugs, starting fires. I have seen ppl at 6PM with guns on that property and in that area, and right next to my house. One of my fears is that my house will catch fire bc people are starting fires up against my fence-hanging out there-living there, urinating there. It is a total health hazard. These types of things are also happening in the nearby Kissell Alley, on the sidewalks, in the street next to this school. The garbage keeps piling up on this property, and all around on public property, next to the former adult school on Capitol Street. My grandchildren and I can't even walk in my own neighborhood, on public sidewalks, the street, bc of all of the garbage (glass, sharp metal objects, urine, trash...). It is dangerous. Please do what you can. I appreciate all of your help. I want to do all I can so pls contact me anytime. I pick up garbage everyday but my trash can quickly fills up with all the trash. I don't have room in my garbage can to put it all.
Would you happen to know what are the plans for the old Vallejo Adult School? The City recently tore down a smaller building adjacent to the school, but there's still a lot of squatters coming through setting up like it's a campsite.
I think the building is private property. The smaller unit that was demolished belonged to the Vallejo Unified School District. The large building has, or used to have, a property management company out of Sacramento.
If contact is made with the owner regarding this building, it should be reported that there has now been illegal access gained. Trespassers have pried a board loose from a window. Noticed this on June 10.
Most of the graffiti has been deleted by some Heroic Vigilantes, but there are several ways to get inside of the building, including boarded windows and the stairway on the west side, where the steel door at the top of the stairs is not secured. The door appears to be shut, but it is easily pried open by criminals, squatters, vandals, and other nasty vermin. A sad destiny for such a proud old building. The McKinley School is a Treasure, and hopefully some worthwhile organization will bring it back to life, One Fine Day...

Mr. Mike,
