It's real. I passed by her on Chapel Street last night on a walk, with her leather leash tied to the stairway leading down into Edgewood Park. Wicked cruel. She looked like she was probably dumped soon after she had a litter of puppies, because her nipples were so swollen. Unfortunately none of the animal shelters were open.
What does one do in this situation besides call the police?
yes it was true. i think one of new havens finest was bitten because when i went by the first time there was a police car with 2 officers there and the poor dog was barking and affraid and they were standing there looking at him . a few min latter there was a fire truck and there had to be 8 police cars there!!! are you kidding me ! the poor dog was left in the cold snow and now there is 10 police officers standing around the dog and one of them had his knight stick out !!!!! just back away from the poor dog and call someone that can help . i hope the poor dog is ok and no one hurt her.
I've run into this problem - it seems like most dogs are dumped when the shelter is closed. Is one supposed to call the non- emergency police number? There was another dog dumped in that same spot about a month ago. Sad.
