Description
The school zone starts at 7:00 a.m. (if not, sooner), though students are not admitted into the schools until 7:20, and neighboring schools do not initiate their school zones until 7:15. The zone extends past the stop light, although the second driveway is no longer in use and blocked off with a sign that warns drivers not to ever use it. If one goes to Kroger then turns onto LM Blvd, one does not know it is a school zone. Also, the "Speed Limit 40" sign is clear and is positioned 20 yards in front of the "End School Zone" sign, which is obscured by bushes 9 months of the year. So, even if one notices entering the school zone, one doesn't know where the end it. Logically, one would think it is where the new speed limit is posted. All that, and no children have been seen walking to school on that busy, 5-lane road in a decade (One would question the parent who allowed their child to do so).
