We are very conscientious about clearing the sidewalk but when the plow comes through and pushes frozen icebergs onto the sidewalk its impossible to clear it. My calls to the city have been ignored.

This is going on throughout the city. Homeowners shovel or snowblow their walks and the city comes down the street at a high rate of speed and throws the snow and ice chunks back onto the sidewalk. Yes, they have to clear snow off the roads but they are purposely driving down the wrong side of the street with the intent of pushing extra snow into driveways and walks.

I understand the usual overflow of slush and snow but this was huge-chalk it up to a bad winter
and the private plowers pushing snow from a driveway across the street onto the bank in front of my house. As long as they don't send me a bill for not cleaning it up-because I will not pay it. I'll take a picture of it in May when everyone else's snow is gone and have a good laugh.

I watched it today. The corner of Alger and Bolster Alley. The city snow plow using a V-plow in the scoop position made 4, count'em 4 separate pushes of large quantities of snow onto an old man's sidewalk. It wasn't like a little splash over. They stored the snow in the middle of the poor guy's sidewalk. I think it was cruel.

Happened to me, too, on both sides of my corner lot. I have photos to prove. Happened last year as well. Pedestrians can complain to DPW... I give up.

I guess we're fortunate to have the streets plowed..where my daughter goes to school they only plow main thorofares. You must have 4 wheel drive to get around the city. No side street plowing at
all. Can you imagine? And I'm not talking about the south.

The city needs to update the snow removal ordinance for cleaning snow from sidewalks. Currently it’s 12 hours. Changing it to 48 hours would save property owners money because mostly the city will be done plowing in the sidewalks. Then the sidewalks will need to be cleared only once per snowfall instead of the 2 to 3 times currently needed.

Nothing else to do. City does not clear sidewalks apparently. We have cleared a path around the ice.
