Street floods is Acknowledged 10 People want this fixed

Anything more than a drizzle the street corner floods. There are 4 storm drains on the corner of Maple and Crestmont. Only 2 of them work (when no covered with leaves). All rain water runs in one direction, and when the drains have leaves on them, our neighbors backyard floods (to the point it has picked up their cars and moved them), and water levels easily get to knee level.

We will bring out our Jetter and jet all the lines in the intersection. We will get all 4 of them working. We do try our best to keep ALL inlet faces clear of leaves.

Thanks for cleaning out the drains Carl, but I am going to keep this open until the next significant rainfall. The problem lies with the slope of the streets, and the inefficiency of 2 of the 4 storm drains. I'd be more than willing to share video with you of what happens. Once the two useless drains are clogged with leaves and debris, the water continues to run towards the other 2 drains which are also covered with debris and can not sufficiently handle the water. There needs to be at least two more curb side drains installed on either Crestmont Terrace, or the Rt130 side of Maple and Crestmont.

Here's a photo of one of the drains at the intersection of Crestmont Terrace and Maple Avenue.

I've never seen how the flooding comes about, but I did notice the ice in that area increase during the cold weather. It prevented people from parking there since there was so much ice and it appeared to be unsafe as well. Not sure why there is so much water to begin with or how it can be resolved.

There are actually two types of drains at the intersection. Two pictured that lay in the street, and two that have openings in the street and the curb. The picture shows what it looks like when it isn't raining. Different story with any significant rain.
