Description
This is a repeat issue. I see cars constantly ignoring stopped school buses with their red lights blinking on Gick Road. This morning, I observed a white vehicle slow down because they belatedly noticed bus, then speed up and revved right by the school bus. A child had literally just crossed the road to get on the bus, almost getting hit because the car was going so fast. The stop sign recently installed at Jordan Rd N is useless, with people ignoring that as well. There are residents on Gick Road with children, animals, etc. It is not a highway. This is the third time I have reported this type of incident. This isn't a stupid issue, someone could be hurt or killed. I don't want to watch my son getting on the school bus and getting mowed down by an ignorant and careless driver. The school bus driver honked her horn LOUDLY, to no avail.

This is a serious issue, and one that should not be taken lightly. It only takes ONE time for a careless driver to strike a child, and seriously injure - if not kill - them. I very seriously encourage anyone who witnesses an incident like this to write down the license plate number and a description of the car. A description of the driver is even better. Then contact the Saratoga Springs Police at 584-1800. You may be asked to sign an affidavit, which is simply a sworn statement that you witnessed the vehicle in question commit the offense you're reporting.
There is no reason to wait until a child is struck to take action - these drivers are breaking the law, and putting our children in very serious danger.

Thank you, Badger, you are absolutely correct. I was unable to get the driver's license, or I would definitely have turned them into the police dept.
What concerns me also is that this is the second time I have reported this happening.

Seriously, HOW many accidents will happen on JONES/GICK RD
before something really CHANGES?
I HAVE LIVED ON THAT ROAD A FEW YEARS ,AND HAVE SEEN TREES SHEARED OFF ,AND POWER LINES KNOCKED OUT BY CAR ACCIDENTS AT LEAST 3 TIMES THIS PAST YEAR!
I CAN'T EVEN WALK TO MY MAIL BOX WITHOUT REFLECTIVE CLOTHING & A HARD HAT
THE STOP SIGN AT JORDAN RD IS A JOKE,AND MANY CARS JUST ROLL RIGHT THRU IT,WHILE YAKKING ON THIER CELL PHONES OR TEXTING
NOTHING WILL BE DONE TO FIX IT UNTIL THOSE INVOLVED ARE RELATED TO A COP OR A POLITICIAN!
THAT'S THE ONLY TIME PROBLEMS GET ANY ATTENTION AROUND HERE.
