I know the City has been cutting back on grass cutting in medians and other places, but letting parks go overgrown is inexcusable. After walking through the tall grass to the soccer fields last Sunday, I discovered three ticks on my legs. Virginia is a Lyme endemic state. Ticks can carry Lyme, and keeping grass cut keeps ticks from easily moving from tall grass to a host. Failure to keep grass cut in at least the areas that are used by the public puts the public at risk. Any other private property gets fined for tall grass due to its potential to harbor pests (fleas, ticks, snakes, rats, etc..) why shouldn't the City be expected to keep the same standards?

There are several clogged city storm drains on Bryan Park Ave., specifically at the entrance triangle to the Bryan Parkway neighborhood. (2000-2100 block) Recent rains have flooded Bryan Park Ave and trash/debris constantly collects in these pools.
