  • 3620 Rock Creek Church Road Northwest Washington, District of Columbia - Petworth
The stop sign has been knocked over. Vehicles heading south on Rock Creek Church don't have any indication that they need to stop there.
  • 7001-7015 5th Street Northwest Washington, District of Columbia - Fort Totten-Upper Northeast
The crosswalk signal on the northeast corner is smashed in and turned to face the wrong direction.
  • 1201-1233 E Street Northwest Washington, District of Columbia - Downtown
This address is just one location. I was seeing it in so many places that I thought I'd better report it. Stop using the contractor responsible for these messes.
  • Bicycle Rack Archived
1400-1420 Park Road Northwest Washington, District of Columbia - Columbia Heights
One of the bike racks at this corner has been unbolted and stolen. This suggests two things need done:
    (1) replace the bike rack; and
    (2) not use the kind of rack that is just an upside-down U bolted into the sidewalk.
  • 910 15th Street Northwest Washington, District of Columbia - Downtown
It seems like there should be a way that we can crowd-source ticketing of this, now that we all have cell phone cameras. I'm not sure who to report this to, so I tweeted DDOT and am adding it here: Honday Odyssey with Virginia license plate XBD-3810 turned into the 15th Street bike lane at K Street, drove down the block, and parked just before I Street. See picture attached. The driver was a small Hispanic woman.
  • 13th St Nw & Park St. Nw Washington, District of Columbia - Columbia Heights
The crosswalk signal on the southeast corner is twisted so that it cannot be viewed from the needed positions. It needs to be twisted back.
  • 7100 Blair Road Northwest Washington, District of Columbia - Fort Totten-Upper Northeast

There doesn't appear to be a formal way to report violations of failure to yield to pedestrians. A gray four-door Honda Civic with license plate 9EN-E24 dangerously failed to yield to a pedestrian while heading southbound on Blair during morning commute hours. If you know this car's owner, shame them.

Under DC law, drivers are legally required to stop for pedestrians in crosswalks, as long as pedestrians have not entered so abruptly that the vehicle cannot stop. This pedestrian gave the vehicle plenty of room to stop. Despite the driver's rush, the walking pedestrian was able to walk up to get close enough to take this picture while the car was stopped at the light at Cedar. So, the driver endangered life with no gain in transport time.

  • Piney Branch & Sheridan Ave Nw Washington, DC - Brightwood
Cars do not stop for pedestrians at this busy crosswalk. During off-peak hours, this isn't a problem, but many people cross this as a part of their morning or evening commute. Please at least install one of those neon pylons on the center line to remind drivers of their legal obligation to yield to pedestrians.
  • 1064-1098 5th St Nw Washington D.C., DC 20001, USA - Mount Vernon Triangle
The crosslight to cross 5th at L Street requires pedestrians to press the button to get a signal. The button on the side near the Safeway is broken. Pedestrians end up crossing at random times, confusing vehicular traffic.
