    This large brick house on the corner of Oak & Poplar looks like the occupants/renters have moved out. The basement window on the west side of the house is broken and there is a pile of aluminum cans sitting outside of the shattered window. Seems like it needs to be boarded up!

    For the past hour, someone has been setting off very loud fireworks and it sounds like it's coming from the 400 or 500 block of West Pecan/Almond Street/Poplar area. I've seen a few police cars going by but it hasn't stopped whoever is setting them off. It's a little unnerving during this time of unrest! And boom, there goes another one........at 736pm.........

    Since I've been working from home, my office faces out onto West Pecan Street. It's always been a fairly busy street but lately there have been cars speeding in both directions. From my office, I can see the stop sign at the corner of W Pecan and N Springer and some of these cars barely stop or just zoom through. There are alot of people and children out walking these days plus there are alot of neighborhood cats that cross the street. Just worried something bad will happen. The traffic coming through has been noticeably faster - seems like most of it comes from the east and heads toward Oakland. Thanks.

    My car, which is always parked in my driveway, has been ransacked twice in the past month (August). The two times this has happened were nights where I had to go back to my car to get something and I forgot to re-lock the car. Nothing was taken because I don't leave anything of value in my car and there was no damage but both times the console and glove compartments were ransacked and all 4 of my car doors were left wide open - which I would discover in the morning when I'd leave for work. Apparently this is a systematic thing otherwise what are the odds of this happening on the two times I forgot to lock my car? I haven't reported it to the police because there was no damage but I do feel this needs to be brought to their attention and the neighbors alerted. Thank you very much - Mary Schneider, homeowner

    The two large, old sweet gum trees on the easement in front of my house are starting to lose limbs and big branches almost weekly. They fall onto the street, the sidewalk and in the last week, have fallen onto my front steps and blocked the entrance to my door. It's a matter of time before a really big one comes down onto my house or a car parked on the street. Can these trees be trimmed or cut back before something bad happens?
