Was talking to a DPS fried last week after a double fatal car crash on West 290 near Fitzhugh Rd. 50 yards from where another fatal crash was in the past year or so.

And there was a horrible accident last night 1/4 of a mile on 290 West of there near Nutty Brown Rd.

I am not all for new speed limits or new lights, but he said, and not sure if it is true. And if not, how to try and get this to happen here in the Cedar Valley Community. But seems that in the stretch at least between Fitzhugh Rd. and Nutty Brown Rd. may need a reduced speed limit at the very least. And/or a blinking yellow light in that area.

As these new folks have moved out this way and continues to grow, people speed that hwy and it is very dangerous.

  • Brodie Lane And Slaughter Lane Austin, Texas - Austin

Eastbound Slaughter Lane at the Brodie Lane Intersection is a bottle neck issue. It backs up regularly, escpecially at rush hour. The lanes back al lthe way past the Sendera neighborhood, almost all the way to Mopac Loop 1.

Any easy and cheap way to relieve a lot of this traffic and speed up commute time, would be to enlarge the lanes into the very large median at the Brodie Lane intersection back to almost Bowie High School.

Because many people just want to turn left, so the left lane can back up to almost Bowie High School, and traffic congestion does not ease up, until the lanes are expended at the intersection for the stop light.

Brodie Land And Davis Lane Intersection Austin, Texas - Austin

Can New Davis Westbound lanes be expanded into 3 lanes?
This great new project that has improved the intersection at Westbound Davis at Brodie Intersection, it has been too successful and heavy with traffic that backs all the way down Davis. The reason is that it is 2 lanes (with a wide painted divider in the road) Most people either want to go straight or turn right, so the light could be improved by removing the painted barrier and having 3 dedicated lanes: Left, Straight, and Right. Then that would certainly help with the issue.

    Can this be done?

  • 7112 S Mo Pac Expy Austin, Texas - Austin

Currently, at S. MoPac Expy Loop 1, there is no Frontage Road Access to Convict Hill Road, Near Brush Country Road/Latta Drive, located at 7112 S Mo Pac Expy Austin, TX 78749. This is Chuy's Mexican Food Restaurant near the Costco Wholesale parking lot. The Frontage Road goes under the roadway, without access to Convict Hill Road.

This would be a very easy addition to be made here and would help route traffic much better to and from this area on this roadway.

  • 5001 Davis Ln Austin, TX 78749, Austin, Texas - Austin

Isn't It Now Time To Easily Add On and Off Ramp onto the West Side of MoPac Expy Loop 1?

Currently, there are on and off ramps on the East intersection of Davis Ln on Mopac Expy Loop 1, near the new office buildings located at 5000 Davis Ln, Austin, TX 78749.

However, there are no on and of ramps on the West intersection at the same location.

This would be a very easy addition to be made here and would help route traffic much better to and from this area on this roadway.

  • 4512 Clawson Road Austin, Texas - South Manchaca

Less than 5 years ago, 2 new stop signs were erected on Clawson Road. These are on a bend on Clawson Road where Crown Drive enters Clawson Road. A stop sign at Crown Drive has been present for many years and is surely required. However, the 2 new stop signs are more confusing and not required than anything else. Nobody in the neighborhood respects them, which is apparent, because nobody stops at them. They are stop signs in middle of a continuous road. There is hardly ever any entering or exiting traffic onto Crown Drive. This neighborhood is over 60 years old, with many residents living here for all of these years. They do not stop at these signs, maybe a rolling stop at best. This is more of a cause for an accident, then how it was before.

Today, a vehicle traveling too fast ran the South stop sign, then due to a vehicle approaching the stop sign from the North, the driver turned too fast and ran into the property located at 4512 Clawson Road, damaging the fence and home. This has caused panic and outrage among the neighbors, who agree that the 2 new stop signs are a detriment, rather than a benefit. Please remove both 2 new stop signs on Clawson Road at Crown Drive.

Note: The signs were erected a day before a builder put a house on the market. The house was doubled in size, then flipped. This would be the only house that may benefit from 2 new stop signs, as now the house and driveway are within the intersection. However, now the entire neighborhood must share in the detriment that these signs present in their daily lives.

  • Deer Lane Austin, TX - Austin

Another South Austin traffic mess. Deer Lane at Brodie Lane is an absolute traffic nightmare at all times of the day:

Deer Lane traffic East at the intersection of Brodie Lane is a two lane road with no South turn lane, causes traffic to back up on this road dozens of cars deep morning, noon and night.

I sent a request to the City of Austin for traffic improvements recently, but have yet to receive a response.

If this is something that you can shine light on and champion, please let me know if I can take any photos for you that would show how deep the cars pile up on this 2 lane road.

  • 2204 Andrew Zilker Rd Austin, TX - Barton Hills

UPDATE: 12/15/2013 UnAmerican New Red "FREE SPEECH ZONE" signs at exit of City of Austin Zilker Park Trail of Lights. Shame on you, Shame, City of Austin! Also, a red and green drone flew over the event the entire time.

I have never been more offended in all my life, until I visited the annual Zilker Christmas tree this year. I took my family consisting of my pregnant wife and 14 month old son. The parking lot was closed due to water-soaked fields. Traffic backed up along MoPac causing delays and near accidents, but signs and traffic control told visitors one-by-one as they waited to enter the park, only that they were now being turned away. So poor planning and execution that can be explained and excused.

What I find unexplainable and speaks for it's self are the signs posted at the exit. "Free Speech Area" and "Designated Free Speech Zone".

My wife thought that this was a joke. However, these signs were well posted and the same red signs and make as posted elsewhere in the park.

There was a heavy police presence, I don't know if these were placed by APD or these were installed by the Parks Department.

Unbeknownst to us, the City of Austin had designated this area, where the Zilker Christmas Tree is located, a zone in America void of our First Amendment right.

These signs would not be welcome at a political event, much less a family environment.

What actions will you take to remove these unAmerican signs, find and punish those that installed the signs, and put into plan to never put up this type of unconstitutional sign again?
