Street repaving Archived4816 30 Avenue Astoria, NY - Astoria-Long Island City30th Avenue from 31st Street to 50th Street is a major thoroughfare that is in horrible condition ever since Con Ed dug most of it up after its disastrous fires in July 2006. Other lesser streets with fewer problems have been completely repaved. Why not 30th Avenue?

I think it's coming from the White Castle on 21st Street and 31st Drive... at all times of the night, there is a voice that yells something on a loudspeaker. It seems like it's an automated response to something, but it seems to go off for no apparent reason. The volume should be cut in half, or it should be eliminated. It's just useless noise pollution.

Steinway Street Astoria, NY - City Council District 22Never in my 27 yrs of living in NYC I have seen this. Steinway street up to 20th ave had no major problems (other than a pothole that developed at the intersection of stein and 20th).
And what does the city do? It prevents parking for 1 day, strips the road and makes a situation that need no fixing a whole lot worse. Now the road is bumpy throughout. The divider line is barely seen. And for what?
If it isn't broken, don't fix it.
