Map widgets allow visitors on another website to see the SeeClickFix issues that have been reported in an area and to report issues of their own.
Start by refining the area you would like to see displayed. The area you see in the window on the left is the same area that will be shown in the widget itself, so be sure to set the dimensions and the zoom level to your satisfaction.
If you change the Dimensions of the map window in pixels, you won't be able to see what it looks like until after you generate the widget. Try it once and see what it looks like! If you'd like to make changes, just hit the back button on your browsers, change the pixel settings, and give it another shot.
Entering a Title helps you keep track of the widget you are making, which is especially useful if you're going to be generating a few of them. If you use a verified email address for contact information you will be able to see the widget under "My Account" in the menu.
The Default issue summary is the text that will pre-populate the Issue Summary box when a user begins to submit a report through your widget. If, for example, you are making a widget to help monitor potholes in your area, you might want the default issue summary to read "Pothole." In many cases, leaving blank boxes encourages users to add content of their own.
The Filter by keyword box allows you to filter the issues that are displayed on your map widget. For example, let's say you're a member of a community group that is working to remove graffiti from a city's streets; you could create a map widget that only displays issues containing the keywords "graffiti" and "tag." If you leave this box blank, your map widget will display all the issues that have been reported in the area. The Status check-boxes are another way for you to filter the issues displayed.
You also have the option to change what what shows up above the map window and to the right of the map window. On the top, you can have links that will allow users report an issue and create a watch area, or you can leave that space blank. To the right of the map window, you can have a list of issue summaries - sort of a mini-text widget - or you can simply leave that blank as well.
And, as always, when you input your contact information, we will keep it private. It will not be distributed in any way.
