No traffic control of any type on Eastridge NE between Indian School & Chelwo... Abrir

There is no traffic control devices of any type on Eastridge NE, between Indian School Rd. NE & Chelwood Pk Blvd NE. Being next to a school needs a school zone, markings, speed bumps, speed limit sign, or crossing guard where almost one hundred people cross daily with no safety or traffic control features. This problem has been reported to 311 for several years. Traffic Control has visited with no benefit. This is a dangerous, safety hazard. Move the crossing guard from Indian School & Eastridge, to Eastridge NE & Georgene NE

  I have been working with the City of Albuquerque, & Albuquerque Public Schools for over 3 years now to get something accomplished. My hope is now that R.J. Berry is the mayor and David Robbins is on the APS school board & there is a new principal at Chelwood Elementary School, Rick Barden, maybe something might be done.   2 other items that should be done are:
  - Chelwood School teachers/employees to park on school grounds and NOT on Eastridge, since this makes children dart between cars onto oncoming traffic when they are trying to cross the street. There is plenty of vacant land on school property to handle their cars.
  - Speed Bumps should be added on Eastridge to slow down traffic, since so many children try to cross Eastridge to get to the school's playground when school is not in session.

There are no traffic control devices near Chelwood Elementary School: No speed signs, no school zone signs, no crosswalk, no speed bumps. Over 100 people cross daily during school many of them children. It is a dangerous situation.

  Some APD presence on Eastridge would be extremely helpful between 14:30 until 14:50 Monday through Friday on school days. CABQ traffic algorithms are faulty they only consider high density residential areas & continuous high traffic volume. This does not work for school areas where traffic patterns vary and residential density is low. The current system doesn't work and people are unsafe, especially children who dart in traffic without looking.

  I had a meeting with Don Harris the city councilor for this area. He said that he could get a speed limit sign and a crossing guard during school times for North side of the school. I talked to his analyst Isacc Padilla who is following up on the decision. I don't know the details of how it will happen. I will post updates.

Need Stop Sign or Stoplight Arquivado

Residents at Ventana Canyon are at risk everytime they try to leave the apartment complex. The speed limit on Golf Course is 35 mph but this area is jokingly referred to as a speedway because people drive so fast and dangerously going either direction. It is very dangerous for residents to leave 10300 Golf Course going either direction. The apartments are located at the bottom of the hill and by the time the driver could pull out going either North or South, drivers on Golf Course come barreling down on them and nearly cause accidents quite a few times per day. I am certain that this area will have a driving fatality at some point due to the speed of the drivers on this road. Please either install speed bumps, a stop sign, or a stop light to ensure the safety of everyone driving on this road. Please, I am scared for my life and my daughter's life every time I pull out of the complex. Thank you! I love living here, but I will have to move if this doesn't get fixed!

  Thank you for looking into this... If people on the road would go the posted speed limit, perhaps this would not be such a dangerous area. This morning when trying to leave to turn left out of Ventana Canyon, I was nearly hit by a car that was not in my vision when I initially pulled out. The car was clearly going too fast and by the time I got to the middle of the intersection and swerved to avoid hitting the speeding car coming from the South, a whole new group of speeding cars appeared on my right going the other direction! It should not be terrifying to drive out of my home! Thanks for the help!

Intersection damaged and flooded (again) Arquivado

This storm further eroded the dirt and rocks from the surrounding and "upstream" property to create the usual and dangerous mess. The city has been out to clean this mess up countless times and nothing will change until infrastructure is installed. We have enormous tax bills for this neighborhood and is it too much to ask, as a safety concern if nothing else, to finally fix this ugly and dangerous intersection that floods year-round? Please do something.

Bad pavement hump on southbound lanes Arquivado

Where the concrete paving meets the asphalt paving, the asphalt has a hump like a small speed bump and needs to be milled flat.

Crosswalk signal not working Arquivado

4400 Alameda Blvd Ne Albuquerque, NM

Cross walk button on SW corner of new intersection stops traffic on Alameda and changes the light for South bound traffic off Balloon Fiesta Park Blvd, then returns to green for alameda leaving bicyclists and pedestrians stranded. Traffic Engineers recently changed button from infrared to push button (why go backwards?) and thats when the crossing quit working. Significant safety issue as anyone crossing must break the law on an already dangerous intersection (sad that it is new and so dangerous) so suggest fixing it be a priority.

  Tried to cross this intersection today (6-22-2012) and still not working. Called 311 and operator could find no reference number searching by approx. date or location. Need to emphasize that pedestrians and cyclists cannot get a light/signal to cross Northbound at this intersection even though Alameda traffic is stopped (can't see Southbound lights to see if they have green signal). The operator today created new reference # but couldn't email it. I couldn't write it down because I was at intersection using phone to call her. Think they should be able to email or text to number call made from. Anyway, PLEASE FORWARD the name and number for the "appropriate department" this was send to and I will personally follow up.

horrible asphalt patches Arquivado

There are a series of horrible patches on Lomas, westbound. The worst is in the left hand lane, between Jefferson and Adams. It looks and feels like a terrible speed bump.

Asphalt buckling at left turn lane Arquivado

Lomas Blvd Ne Albuquerque, NM

The asphalt is buckling at the entrance to the left turn lane, eastbound Lomas to northbound Wyoming. It is like a speed bump on a motorcycle. There have been similar situations fixed like this on the north side of the interstate. Thank you.

At intersection on 2nd left both turning lanes facing South turning lanes to ... Arquivado

2nd & Candelaria Nw Albuquerque, NM

On 2nd street & Candelaria NW intersection facing South both left turning lanes going to turn left on to Candelaria East - there is a BAD BUMP like a SPEED BUMP that needs to be shaved down, it hits your tires hard a motor cycle almost wiped out ! You don't see it until it is to late -- if you don't know it is there, I go through that intersection everyday to work.

Monday, Feb 12 someone drove thru this neighborhood at approx 1:30 pm. SB from Zuni to Gibson. My estimate is that they were going approx 50-60 miles per hour. They went thru all the stop signs, etc. That was unusually high speed but it is a daily occurance to have someone go thru stop signs or go thru here with excessive speed. This is a residential neighborhood, people walking, backing out of driveways, etc. What can be done to make people slow down????
