Hull St Ansonia, CTHull st seems to be a forgotten street in Ansonia. First off Hull St near the rt 8 overpass has seem to become the second transfer station in the town because it is littered with garbage and glass that never seems to get cleaned up, combine that with the amount of weeds and brush that are overgrowing into the street and the lack of no sidewalks it's impossible to actually walk on the street without being in the middle of traffic. Also multiple curbs have been ripped up by plows the lengths of houses and have never been replaced. Storm drains are severely sinking into the ground collecting water around them allowing for pour drainage. Cars continually run the stop signs through the intersection at Hull/silver hill at 25 mph plus and never is there any sort of police patrol in the neighborhood even with the fact that there have been car/home break in's. For the cost of living in Ansonia with one of the highest mill rates you would expect more. No wonder people wanna move out and the value of properties continues to decline.

Hi, I know the town crew is very busy and there is lots of do. However, in recent weeks myself and others have begun using the river walk more again. As we know, the Shelton side has limited "official" parking as does Ansonia. I believe three spots and one is handicapped.
That said, the older "commuter lot" (not sure what to call it because it predates the river walk and had to have been build for a reason) is now becoming Ansonia river walk parking. There are often a half dozen cars there on nice days. They simply park there where the other lots are full and walk over.
It's great this is available but it seems to not be on the "radar" as far as being maintained and cleaned. As this photo shows there is a lot of trash piling up around the edges and in the lot itself. The lot could use some sprucing up due to use and location but I'm not asking that.
Since this lot has no real other purpose now but to be overflow river walk parking can be be checked and cleaned weekly during Spring - Fall? Yes, it could use a few trees and some repaving but all I ask is clean up. Even if you don't have to park there everyone on the river walk looks over and see trash all over this lot and grass. I'm sure this was just overlooked. Thanks!

As I entered Route 8 at the new entrance ramp near Griffin today I saw the hazard so many have been talking about. The horribly designed "traffic circle" placed dangerously in front of the entrance ramp!
I noticed dirt on the road so we slowed down and I was able to get these pictures. Not only are tire tracks I saw weeks ago on the right side still there, now trash has been thrown out and someone hit this thing at high speed (over the weekend) kicking up the dirt on the road and doing quite a bit of damage to the landscaped area.
Derby clearly is not maintaining this or they would have already removed the weeks old tracks, forget the trash and now more damage. You have to slow to a crawl to not slam into that round about... I can imagine the danger at night.
What if this new vehicle that clearly hit with some speed flipped? What if it's passengers were injured or worse?
I assume Derby is ready to settle every time they get sued for creating a road hazzard? Really?
Rockwood Ave Ansonia, CTThe greenhouse at the corner of Rockwood & N Prospect St has a tree growing out of one of the buildings which is falling over, unused broken greenhouses, not to mention all the overgrown shrubs and garbage. This business needs to clean up their yard and tear down danagous buildings and glass houses no longer in use. It is a disgust that us neaighbors have to look at this but be embarrassed by its dismay. I cannot believe the town has not ordered them to clean up or fine them a heavy fine and let the town clean it up.
525 E Main St Ansonia, CTIt appears someone had beat me to this issue already as it continues to generate fairly accurate opinion through many WEB and other media outlets. Good question, will it be in the age or generation of the valley baby-boomers to see a visual change to the buildings on upper East Main and lower North Main Streets? Example, the next half of decade? By the largest media account this "YouTube" link below has also awakened me like 3,184 others through comment stating the town of Ansonia is either a fire trap or some kind of pit. It is YouTube number 1 by categorically doing a simple-search “Ansonia, CT” in the search bar. What a grand entrance to the town & label to the internet’s hottest site seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfdsYTHaT9o

Having been in Ansonia for about 3 years now I shake my head every time there is a holiday on a Monday and await the stream of stupidity to start flowing.
Ansonia's residential trash pickup is on Wednesday each week UNLESS a holiday falls on Monday. If that happens, trash pickup is ALWAYS moved a day later, to Thursday.
However, time and time again, trash piles up on these "holiday weeks" a day early. In the summer it sits out a day and stinks.
Has the city actually ever notified residents to NOT put their trash our on Wednesday when Monday is a holiday? Clearly, the residents don't seem to notice their trash is on the curb for two days nor care how that looks.
Marshall Lane & Bartholomew Ave Ansonia, ConnecticutThe house on the corner of Marshall Lane & Bartholomew Ave is a junk yard. Kids toys, trampoline, holiday decorations, you name it and it's in the FRONT yard. The house also has at least 6 cars/truck/vans parked on the grass all the time. This is NOT the image of a Hilltop resident we want. Can someone please make them clean up their act???????· Reported by Concerned neighbor · Flag Flagged
