818 South Mildred Street Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
A large oval sinkhole appears to be developing at the center of the 800 block of South Mildred Street.
The blacktop is cracked the width of the street, and the area immediately north of the crack has sunken several inches. It now collects large pools of rainwater and debris.
The concrete sidewalks on either side have arc-shaped cracks that seamlessly connect to the crack in the blacktop.· Reported by Yasiejko · Flag Flagged

The owners of this land (Carl's Poultry, who also operate a low-cost poultry shop across the street) have let this vacant property (in the heart of the Italian Markets) turn into an open dump. There is a graffiti covered dumpster sitting in this lot and it is surrounded by trash piling up. When asked to remove the trash a few years ago, they simply put tarps over it.
Now others are dumping here. The "green" fence is often covered with graffiti, and it's been this way for years.
Efforts from neighbors a few years ago halted a zoning variance to allow yet more construction by property owner. Why? Because the property owner, owns other abandoned/blighted properties on the 800 block of League Street. The fork lifts from his "warehouses" on League are constantly blocking traffic, not to mention the stench from the "cleaning" of kitchen equipment in the street. (But that's an entirely different topic. Health code violations?)
Be a good neighbor - CLEAN IT UP.· Reported by CR · Flag Flagged

About a month ago PGW was replacing pipes on the South Side of the 1000 block of Washington Avenue. However, yellow PVC pipes, cones and PGW placards were left on the North Side of Washington (right in front of Sherwin Williams.) after the construction wrapped up. Since then, a taco truck has used the pipes/cones to block off a parking space for themselves 24 hours a day. Worse, they actually block out the two spots in front of "their" spot with PGW cones / placards for ease of parking. Our neighborhood has lost three parking spots and we're left with unsightly construction debris.
Disgruntled neighbors moved the pipes / placards to the sidewalk to free-up parking spots last night.
PGW needs to REMOVE the pipes (now sitting on the sidewalk and blocking pedestrian traffic) and have a word to the taco truck about using PGW property to block off three legal parking spots, designated for residents.· Reported by CR · Flag Flagged
S 8th St Philadelphia, PABecause this is a very busy stretch with two bus stops close together as well as two convenience stores, there is a small river of litter that flows down the west-side sidewalk and in the gutters. Many of the residences are apartment buildings, there are a couple of restaurants, and many elderly. No one picks up the litter. It's disgusting.

We have tried talking to store management, we have called Sherwin Williams corporate, we have contacted the property owners, heck we have even contacted the lawyer of the property owners. Still the Sherwin Williams property lacks any type of regular property maintenance. We will continue to work on this until we see REGULAR trash/litter removal. Neighbors are left cleaning up a commercial property and trying to thwart the dumping.
In the winter of 2012, things started to get better with the property for about 3 weeks after neighbors started to get VERY focal with the corporate offices. But they're back to their old ways. Just a few weeks ago the wonderful folks with City Year removed bags of trash from this property. Again, VOLUNTEERS cleaning a commercial property.· Reported by Carrie · Flag Flagged
