1018 Salter Street New Westminster, British Columbia
The on ramp to the sidewalk does not connect smoothly with the cross walk on the east north corner. A child on a bike or stroller have to go onto Salter street to safely go onto the sidewalk. The complication with this is the pavement is 5 cementers off the sidewalk. For small bikes it is too difficult to jump the lip of the sidewalk. In essence small children would need to get off the bike on Salter street and walk the bike up all while this is a turning intersection for a city bus. There is also no white line for the stop sign on Hampton to indicate a cross walk. It would appear that the ramp was maybe damaged and temporarily fixed. This is suppose the designated safe route by the school district but is not safe because bike and strollers are forced to go into the street.
