Big Dig Prince Albert, SaskatchewanI just got back to town after being away on business. Upon driving by our "BIG DIG" project I was happy to see that it is progressing; however I did want to ask WHY are we NOT installing a sub base of concrete and then a TOP layer of asphalt over this???? I would like to draw attention to the previous work completed beside 28th and 2nd Ave where concrete not so many years ago was installed and point out the deterioration happening there. Now I realize the type of concrete being used has to meet a criteria. What I'm getting at is WHY are the projects in our city being completed with concrete as opposed to the status quo being done in other cities??? After a relatively short time the concrete being installed on top will be in disrepair and the cost to remove it is going to be substantially more than using a asphalt planer!!! I'm wondering why no one else has questioned this to the engineers?? This is where our hard earned tax dollars are going folks ....to poorly engineered projects that we can patch up in only a short peiod of time so we can spend more money we don't have fixing things that should have been done corectly in the first place . It will be nice for awhile but I am aware their are BETTER alternatives! I thought our tax payers would like some insight into this. Who approved this AWESOME design??? Another project with good intentions that will end up costing twice as much in the end not long down the road. Drive around Saskatoon, Regina, Edmonton, and Calgary and tell me if you see things there designed this way?? I could be off base here however look at the previous work completed in the same fashion and tell me what you see?· Reported by cocerned · Flag Flagged
690 28th Street West Prince Albert, SaskatchewanThere are absolutely no dentists in PA for about a week around Christmas time. Therefore, if you are in serious pain, your only option is to try to find the money to drive to Saskatoon for help..
It's not right. Why can't there be one or two dentists in this city willing to be open closer to Christmas or on call for more serious cases such as toothaches. I realize the Emergency department at the hospital will call in a dentist IF there is damage to the mouth sustained in a car accident, but they will give you no options if it is a very bad toothache and pain pills are not touching the pain. Sounds horrible? It is. It's Christmas, this should be one less worry on people's minds. And if you don't feel it's important, god forbid it's not you this year that it is in dire straits, because many have had to endure it in previous years. Also, not everyone will have the money around Christmas to be driving somewhere for help. I hope this can be remedied this year.
S6v 1g3 Prince Albert, SaskatchewanClean up your city Prince Albert!! The Walmart parking lot, Superstore's bushes, your back alley, high schools, your favorite park, anywhere there is foot traffic. There is too much garabage floating around this city. Everywhere I look there is piles upon piles. Plastic bags, diapers, candy wrappers, coffee cups, etc... EVERYWHERE! How can you call this your land and treat it with such disrespect? Come on people, let's all grab a handful whenever we can and put it where it belongs, the trash bins! They have bins everywhere but yet I'm still seeing garbage on the streets. Please consider our/your own reputations. We can be a beautiful city with a little help from the people.· Reported by DoYourPartPA · Flag Flagged
Entire Downtown Area. Prince Albert , SaskatchewanIn May 2010 the Province of Sask. passed new regulations prohibiting smoking within 3 meters of a door, window or vent, &
(for City properties it's 9 meters), shortly after it was found that 2nd hand smoke was even more harmful than smoking.
Prince Albert, Sask, a city of 35,000 seems to think they are exempt from the law. With 40,000 Canadians reported to die every year from smoking related ailments, this is a serious issue.
Smokers stand right in doorways, up to 3 or 4 at once, right beside the large print No Smoking sign & smoke to their hearts content, even by the hospital, with no fear of reprocution for their illegal act.
This year I've personally seen 3 instances with people with
a lit cigarette inside a building.
I've had to walk on the street, J-walk to get away from smokers who are in violation every door they pass, hold my breath, cover my nose & if it keeps up will need a gas mask to walk on the sidewalk in downtown P.A.
It's 20l4 & in May will be 4 years since the regulations became
Law. Please enforce the law & let smokers know they don't have the right to put their cigarette smoke in our lungs. Please help keep the air fit to breath.· Reported by Guest · Flag Flagged
1202 1 Ave W Prince Albert, SK S6V 4Y7, Prince Albert, SaskatchewanAs a P.A resident I like to see new stuff coming in here, new stores opening....I like Surplus Furniture store by Margo Fournier Center, but when you enter in that place it feels like open @#$%. Air conditioner is really needed. I can't stand that heat indeed.
It has to be fixed, otherwise it is not even healthy for nice staff that work in there.

Hwy 2 North prince albert, SaskatchewanSo sick of people not tying down their items when heading to the dump or up north. Everyday lately, it seems that I need to swerve around something else that has fallen from the back of a truck. Please tie your stuff down so that we can all save ourselves from popping a tire or something!!!!!

There is a big puddle appearing in the front of our house. It does not drain at all. Is it possible to send someone to fill it up with soil? It would be greatly appreciated.
