Spring Clean-up Days

NEWS RELEASE – March 27, 2017

  Spring Clean-up Days will be held the last two Wednesdays of April and the first two Wednesdays of May, 2017 according to the following schedule: Wed., April 19, 2017, for that area North of 2nd Avenue North and East of 15th Street Including Orchard Glen, Rolling Hills and 170th Street.. Wed., April 26, 2017, for that area South of 2nd Avenue North and East of 15th Street. Wed., May 3, 2017, for that area North of 4th Avenue North and West of 15th Street. Wed., May 10, 2017, for that area South of 4th Avenue North and West of 15th Street including Pleasant Valley Area and the area east of S. 15th St. and south of the CNRR tracks to Patterson Field Road. Items to be picked up must be placed at curb side not more than 24 hours before and/or prior to 6:00 AM on the day of the clean up.  There will be no alley pick up. The City will not pick up the following and residents are responsible to properly dispose of this material: 1.             Tires, vehicle batteries. 2.             Liquid waste such as paint, varnish, motor oil, etc. 3.             No disassembled electronics such as T.V.’s, computers, etc. 4.             Major appliances such as T.V.'s, computers, stoves, refrigerators, freezers, water heaters, water softeners, washers, dryers, microwaves, dishwashers, air conditioners, humidifiers and dehumidifiers.  Please contact the Recycling Center (955-2781) for the disposal of T.V.'s, computers or other electronic equipment; a $15 fee will apply.  Contact a local salvage yard for the disposal of appliances.  There may be a disposal fee. 5.             All loose items must be boxed or sacked. 6.             Swing sets and clothesline poles must be disassembled with no concrete attached to the poles. 7.             Will not pick up at any non-residential premises, apartment buildings or dwellings with more than 2 families. 8.             No lumber or drywall from torn down buildings or remodeling material of any type.   ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS TO THE ABOVE. RECYCLING WILL BE PICKED UP PER THE NORMAL SCHEDULE - PLEASE SET THE CART AWAY FROM CLEAN-UP ITEMS. CLEAN, GENTLY USED CLOTHING SHOULD BE TAKEN TO GOODWILL. RAGS AND TORN OR SOILED CLOTHING SHOULD BE PLACED IN YOUR GARBAGE. Please refer any questions to Public Works Department, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday, by calling 955-6139.
