East Point Police Department to host Citizens Police Academy
The East Point Police Department will host its Citizens Police Academy on March 6- May 8, 2018. The Citizens Police Academy is a
program designed to acquaint citizens with the organization and interior
working of the East Point Police Department.
The program is designed to foster and enhance Police-Community relations
and to raise community awareness of Police Operations and training in an effort
to promote harmony within the community.
The course of study is similar to a regular police academy program. However, citizens graduating from the course will not be Police Officers. Students will attend class once a week for
ten weeks and topics will range from crime prevention, drug enforcement,
criminal investigations, and the safety of firearms and will include a ride-along with Police Officers.
