City-Wide Parking Ban 10PM Monday, March 12 Until 8AM Wednesday. March 14:Mayor Thomas C. Hoye Jr. has declared a city-wide parking ban in effect from 10:00PM on Monday, March 12 until 8:00AM on Wednesday, March 14.Based on storm predictions, and to keep roadways clear for emergency vehicles and snow plowing operations, all city residents should make every effort to park their vehicles in areas off city streets. Not adhering to this ban could result in vehicles being towed at the owner’s expense.Municipal parking lots are available behind City Hall on Summer Street, on Cedar Street, Court Street, Pleasant Street, Trescott Street, Weir Street (rear of TMLP offices), West Water Street (behind Weir House of Pizza), and Whittenton Street (at Goldstein’s 5 & 10). The Leonard Street parking deck is also available to anyone who needs a parking space.The parking ban and emergency services may be cancelled, extended, or reduced at any time due to changing conditionsTrash and Recycling Pickup Cancelled, Landfill Closed on Tuesday, March 13Due to the pending inclement weather, the City of Taunton has cancelled and delayed curbside trash and recycle collection services for tomorrow, Tuesday March 13, 2018.

The collection week will be delayed a day;Tuesday routes will be delayed and collected on Wednesday March 14, 2018.Wednesday routes will be collected Thursday, March 15.Thursday routes will be collected Friday, March 16.Friday routes will be collected Saturday, March 17.The Sanitary Landfill at 330 East Britannia St. will also be closed Tuesday March 13, 2018.Please see the City's Solid Waste & Recycling Informational Flyer for more information speaking to Solid Waste and Recycling services.
