1041 Atlanta Ave Decatur, GA, 30030, USAThere is no rage like a mother's rage when her children are in danger. The crosswalk signal for crossing East Howard at Atlanta Ave does not work. I sat on the phone with my 6th grader through 3 changes of the signal at 5pm while she attempted to cross the street. I drove from Edgewood to pick her up to get her across the street in the time she was waiting. This is a HUGE deal because when the crossing guards are not there and leaving from aftershool activities, children cannot cross the street. If my child or anyone else gets injured crossing at this light because the pedestrian signal doesn't work, this is your notice that Decatur and DeKalb will pay dearly. If you can't fix it tomorrow, pay your crossing guards overtime to keep them until 5:30 and the middle school students who live on the north side can get across the train tracks.

I bike my kids to WES and pass this intersection daily. I have witnessed at least one car run the red light EVERY DAY
Can we PLEASE get some traffic enforcement here?
2500-2540 Talley St Decatur, GA, 30030, USAI commute each day on Columbia between Memorial and East College in the morning and afternoon. I have a commute that is just shy of 3 miles from my home to work. I’m writing because I believe that the traffic control on the corner of Talley and Columbia near the new school (Talley Street Upper Elementary) is inadequate. It seems to be a new 3-way stop sign configuration, with no active traffic management from a traffic cop. As near as I can tell, this adds about 10 minutes in commute each way per day – which, over a year, really adds up. It has also affected other commuting routes that people are now using as alternatives (Katie Kerr and Candler.) In my opinion, I feel as those it needs two things: 1) a traffic light, and 2) an active traffic cop during rush hour. Can you share if there is anything in the works to mitigate this traffic issue. Thanks!

Hello City of Decatur:
Public-right-of-way hazard is at, roughly, 2177 Ponce de Leon Ave., which is in the City limits, given recent annexation.
The map would not allow placement at the correct address.
A large stump has been abandoned on the sidewalk in front of 2177(?) Ponce de Leon Ave. for many months.
I had noticed it in the past but was reminded of it yesterday when I crashed my bicycle into it.
(I was thrown into the oncoming roadway lane and was spared death by a lack of motor traffic.)
Bicycling this stretch of sidewalk is normal use, as bicycling down the state highway there is . . . less than ideal.
That is, city residents bicycling to and from work and school in the Clifton Corridor use this sidewalk regularly.
So, the stump needs to be removed for safety of the public right of way.
Thank you for your time.

417 Sycamore Dr Decatur, GA, 30030, USAHi there, the new apartments on the south side of Avondale metro are great, and it’s wonderful to have our parking lot back for Marta. There is an issue of the driveway to the garage crossing a pedestrian way. There’s no indication to either drivers or peds that there could be a safety conflict there. I treat the intersection like a stop sign, but others might not. Please help us keep peds (kids!) safe. Thanks.
S Candler St & E College Ave Decatur, GA, 30030, USAThis traffic light is the worst ever! The traffic backup heading into downtown Decatur on Candler starts way before Agnes Scott is even visible. The light is green for what seems like thirty seconds but is on red for like 2 minutes. Heading away from downtown on Candler isn't that bad but going the opposite way any time between 7 and 10 am?? You've got to add at least 30 minutes to your commute time.
