Requests: bike concern
Brainstorming session for the general public to discuss ideas for how our City can solve the illegal dirt bike/atv problem.
Location will depend on the number of people who plan to attend.
College And Chapel Streets New Haven, ConnecticutATVS AND DIRTBIKES ALREADY!!!!! Just this past weekend, it was not yet the first day of spring, and a large cohort of dirty bikes did several loops through the city downtown. They most always fly north on York, east on Elm, then south on temple and west on Chapel. This is their root. I have lived downtown for ten years, and the warm weathe ris their harbinger. The police do nothing, but it is not adequate to say they have a no chase policy. There needs to be more thoughtful interdiction. They terrorized the city several springs and summers in a row. If downtown is all not on camera, can't we get a look at the miscreants? What will the city do this summer to ensure pedestrian safety?· Reported by Javier · Flag Flagged

265 College Street New Haven, ConnecticutFor 48 hours there has been an invasion or dirt and mortorbikes, operating at ear splitting levels, drag racing on Chapel and College Streets. They seem to drag race west on Chapel, into West Rock, head to East Rock and repeat. The bikes are illegally altered to make the mufflers illegally loud. They also rev their engines, eave in and out of traffic, and block pedestrian crossings. This is in full view of the police, who do nothing about them! It is treacherous and a noise pollution issue!· Reported by Brian · Flag Flagged

ATVs and DIRT BIKE DRAG RACING ON THANKSGIVING!
The police are arresting Wage Theft protesters at Goodfellas and have been ignoring the drag racing that has been going on all morning and afternoon. These miscreants take advantage of the fact that the city is relatively free of traffic and pedestrians and have turned it into a racing course with pop wheelies etc, Can the police arrest the true disturbers of the peace??· Reported by ElmCityResident · Flag Flagged
Everywhere New Haven, CTLawlessness in the streets of new haven. First warm day and the hoodlums are out in force. Good job Madam Mayor letting these monsters terrorized the city. If you lived here you would know that this is a huge quality of life issue. Why are you afraid to act??????. The good folks who are investing in this city's future and well being would appreciate if you not let these lawless maniacs take over.· Reported by Fedup · Flag Flagged
New Haven New Haven, ConnecticutYesterday there was a post where someone identify a person who was trying to report a crime. I flagged it and See Click has deleted it. Please do not mention the situation in future posts. People please remember criminals may also visit this site and a post like the one mention can cause harm to someone. This is not the proper way to use this site. It is best
when you see a crime call the police or 911, by posting here you may be helping the criminal. An example would be if you saw where dirt bikes are being stored after being illegally driven on city streets and you post it here the criminals may see it before the police and the bikes will be moved them to another location. By the way the police do not monitor this site often if at all. I would like to add if you report drug dealing here you alert the criminals and they may just deal at another street. Also if there is an undercover operations going on you harm it.
303 College Street New Haven, ConnecticutIt is only mild weather and the beginning of May, but for about a week now the dirt bike terrorists are back, zooming west on Chapel or south down college, doing pop wheelies in the intersection that is College & Chapel and speeding off. They do this at all hours, including late nights and rush hour. They loop up Whalley and return. The police spent the entire weekend ticketing "distracted drivers" and the Mayor's office has been inundated with calls, but if this past weekend is a harbinger of things to come, it is worse than ever. Moreover, Yale has reunion and graduation weekends. Are they also to be marred by such hoodlums. That NHPD is impotent in the face of fourteen year old boys tells you something .· Reported by Marcia · Flag Flagged

DIRT BIKES AGAIN AND ITS ONLY MARCH!
For several years I have been writing about the dirt bike users and warned of impending death which we saw last summer. This is an issue each year. Can the police interdict these users at stoplights? Can the city engage in a public awareness campaign? Use cameras? The noise is unbearable and it seems young punks have it over on the impotent police who can do nothing. In a city where Yale resides, there are no smart ideas?
