Rowanberry Dr Elkridge, MD
When entering Rowanberry Drive from Rt 1 there is only 1 speed limit sign heading through to Montgomery Road. When the single family houses were built traffic calming was added but when traffic gets past the humps heading through to Montgomery Road they continue to pick up speeds much higher than would be safe for a very populated residential neighborhood. My guess is that cars, transit buses and school buses reach at least 45 mpg before they reach Green Field and beyond Green Field around the curve most likely 50 mpg or more before they reach the new firehouse at Montgomery Rd/Lawyers Hill intersection. When entering Rowanberry Dr from Montgomery Road there is a leaning 25 mpg speed limit sign and nothing in place between the signs on each end to slow the traffic. Commuters, transit buses, trucks and school buses race through to get from one end to the other as fast as possible. Can you please fix the speed limit signs, add additional 25 mpg speed limit sign, do a speed surgery, put up those portable speed monitoring signs and investigate the installation of additional traffic calming measures. My guess is that because the majority of residents are young and extremely busy and inexperienced that they either don't know that this is an issue to be reported, or they simply want to be able to get where they want to go as fast as possible. I need to park on the street and it's a crap shoot as to whether someone flys by so quickly that I can't either get my door pulled shut fast enough or get out of the way fast enough before they run me over.
