6100 Karas Walk Elkridge, MarylandBGE was working/excavating several weeks ago in the driveway of the house on the corner of Ducketts Ln/Karas Walk. The left a large pile of concrete etc wrapped in a tarp on the street corner with a cone on top. This location is bus stop for school buses. The debris impeeds foot traffic and is a hazard for the kids waiting for teh bus who play on it.
6988 Montgomery Rd Elkridge, MD 21075, USANew stop sign and stop line on Bauman at Montgomery are not placed correctly. Stop sign is way too far to the right and line is too far back and prevents visibility of traffic on Montgomery Road. Additionally the typeface on the street signs is not correct. Please fix these critical traffic controls ASAP. Street signs that use the right typeface would be nice too but obviously not critical. County must do a better job overseeing these particular contractors they clearly don't care about the people that have to live through this disaster of a project.
6298 Old Washington Road Columbia, MarylandHoward County School Buses cannot see oncoming traffic on Old Washington Rd when they are trying to turn Left off of Montgomery Rd. See picture below which was taken from the bus drivers window. **Potential Accidents can occur here**
Green Field Rd Elkridge, MDWe have a horrible speeding problem throughout the Rockburn Commons and Orchard Club Neighborhoods between rt 103 and Rt 1. Signage through has become dilapidated and is aging. 15 years ago this was a little known area. Now it's a cut through for non residents of the community and commercial traffic. This 25 mph sign looks shorter than average and also is located in an area where it is easily obstructed by larger automobiles and growing trees. Cam the sign please be raised or moved to a location where it is more likely to be seen or, at the least, can the tree be trimmed. Thanks the attached photos is a sunny sunset evening.
6820 Montgomery Road Elkridge, MarylandTree is partly uprooted, and is leaning towards the road and power lines. BGE said not their problem, Verizon said not their problem, more rain and wind the more its leaning, it will fall into road n take out power line.· Berichtet von Elizabeth · Markieren Markiert
6000-6098 Bauman Dr Elkridge, MD, 21075, USAHomeowners bush and tree is once again growing into traffic right-away on North bound side of Bauman Dr at corner of Ducketts Lane. The county had to trim back last year and it needs done again. The growth into road is causing vehicles traveling north on Bauman Dr into the south bound lanes. May I suggest moving or removing the bush and tree from within the county 15 ft right-away otherwise this will be a yearly safety issue...
6298 Old Washington Rd Elkridge, MD 21075, USAOvergrown bush preventing ability to see traffic approaching the intersection from southbound Old Washington. This is already a dangerous intersection.
Deborah Jean And Montgomery Road Ellicott City, Maryland
This intersection desperately needs a traffic light or stop signs.
In addition to the traffic volume addressed by the prior traffic study, the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices allows other considerations when determining whether to install a stop sign.
Per the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD):
Section 2B.07 Multi-Way Stop Applications:
Other criteria that may be considered in an engineering study include:
A. The need to control left-turn conflicts;
B. The need to control vehicle/pedestrian conflicts near locations that generate high pedestrian volumes;
C. Locations where a road user, after stopping, cannot see conflicting traffic and is not able to negotiate the intersection unless conflicting cross traffic is also required to stop; and
D. An intersection of two residential neighborhood collector
(through) streets of similar design and operating characteristics where multi-way stop control would improve traffic operational characteristics of the intersection.
Items A and C (and arguably D) are particularly relevant to this intersection.
Item A: When cars are stopped on both sides of the intersection , each trying to make a left turn or cross the road, the turns are treacherous and require the two drivers to make eye contact and communicate from across the road to avoid an accident.
Item C: This is the most compelling reason of all. This is a high speed intersection with a posted speed limit of 40MPH (and most vehicles traveling faster than that). Due to road curvature visibility is very limited making entering this intersection very dangerous. The MUTCD explicitly allows 4 way stop signs to be installed for this reason.
This is a high speed busy intersection near neighborhoods with many children and young drivers, and is nearby a school where several schoolbuses pass. The county has the opportunity to save lives with the simple installation of stop signs, and the MUTCD allows it to do so for the reasons above. The residents implore you to help.
