abandoned bike chained to pole for several weeks. hasn't been moved. why don't park maintenance workers deal with this, I see them blowing leaves and picking up trash around it but totally ignoring this obviously abandoned trash?

Very dangerous as the bollards appear to serve no purpose but keep right turning vehicles from mixing with bicycle traffic approaching the turn. This is a relatively high speed situation for both bicycles and motor traffic and will surely lead to a repeat of the recent right hook accident that occured on Leucadia and cost a cyclist his life.

We must impliment these traffic devices correctly or they become hazards!

Why does the bike lane striping go thru.the intersection of North Bound Sheridan. This is a Hazardous Condition and not according to MUTCD. The bike lane striping needs to end before the intersection. This makes riders aware that they are entering an intersection and to be alert.for.turning.vehicles that may turn left thru a gap in backed up traffic into a hidden cyclist or be right hooked. This is the same situation that killed a.cyclist at Moonstone. I was also hit at the swamis bookstore driveway as a car crossed into a gap from the Hansons parking lot into me. The bikelane was new and I didnt even know there was a driveway I was crossing.

Exiting the Vons shopping center and entering the Community Park access road is very dangerous due to plant growth obstructing line of sight to the Right and a trash bin enclosure obstructing line of sight to the Left. Add in pedestrians, skateboarders and bicycles to the vehicles... all approaching a "blind" intersection. VERY DANGEROUS. Stop sign? Painted warning on the road? Speed bumps? I've seen too many "close calls" here. Needs to be addressed.

This bridge is terrible for both pedestrians and bikes. A ramp here would be a great improvement, but making the bridge one way (eastbound only) and converting a lane to protected pedestrian/bike path would be much better. The paths on both sides of this bridge are too narrow for biking.

The major risk to cyclists here is the sign in the bike lane that warns cyclists of the bike lane being closed ahead.
This sort of hazard is not uncommon in Encinitas. I could send several pictures of other occurrences.
I did ask a worker once why he placed it there and he told me he had to by law. If that's the case, then there really should be a sign before this one warning cyclists of the dangerous warning sign slap bang in the middle of the bike lane.

All contractors working within the City right of way are required to submit a traffic control plan for approval. These traffic control plans are based on Federal and Local Standards per the MUTCD and the San Diego Regional Standard Drawings. If these signs are not placed per the approved traffic plan the City inspector assigned to the job can have the contractor make any corrections needed. This is an advanced warning sign which needs to be visible to both vehicular and bicycle traffic. If the placement of these signs needs to be adjusted our Traffic Engineers can make that determination. Typical traffic control designs do not require an advance warning sign to warn of advanced warning signs. But, again the placement of said signs can be adjusted based on some volatile factors in the field. Thank you for responding, but explaining how these things happen (as they do quite often in Encinitas) is NOT the same as fixing the unnecessarily hazardous situation you have created for cyclists.
I'm not going to move your sign, or the sign you approved, but I'll again request the city take appropriate action now that you're aware of it, and hopefully before someone rides into it.
