Public Property PLUS

I am writing due to the long-neglected city-owned alleys in the Pembroke Manor neighborhood. These alleys go behind the townhomes and are covered with gang graffiti. There are large pieces of sidewalk that are destroyed or not level that is a public safety hazard; as a Doctor I see this as an easy way for someone to break a leg, ankle, etc. There are numerous large Verizon boxed that have been ripped up leaving large holes with wires hanging out, again another public safety hazard. There are old Bell telephone boxes that have also been ripped up with wires hanging out. There is no lighting. There is a multitude of property owner neglect including broken and falling fences and tree overgrowth. There are alleys on Hinsdale street north and south just east of the manor house. There is an alley on bennett where the homeowner has extended his fence and blocked it off, you can see the alley going through his “backyard”. The most dangerous one is behind the pumpstation on bennett and constitution. There is a door with a no trespassing sign, behind this is another alley, super sketchy that goes into a jungle…I stopped exploring because it was getting dark. These are all city owned and neglected. They are areas for kids to hide and drink and do drugs, etc. the gang graffiti indicates this. These alleyways are used by the residents to take out their trash and are totally unacceptable. For a person to walk or bike ride here would be very dangerous. Please evaluate and fix at once.

Dirt/grass area near storm drain is eroding from heavy rains. I’ve tried backfilling with dirt and grass seed but it just keeps washing away. Same on other side of driveway.

Safety issue. Large hole near elementary school bus stop. Location cross section: Annandale and Monument Dr.

Cross walk switch not working. The last four times I crossed here, I had to cross without the pedestrian cross signals. I even waited for traffic the switch the light twice and no pedestrian signals.

Busted up sidewalk in a few places on this block

Street tree fell during last storm, huge stump and destroyed sidewalk remain. Please remove the stump and repair the sidewalk

Reported #7615854 case on April 1, 2020. City did a temporary gravel fill and left an orange cone months ago. No one has been back for permanent repair despite nearly 5 months in full passing and my following up with a call last month. I requested a call back. No one has had the courtesy to respond. Does it normally take 5-6 months or longer for the city to fix a hazard on city right of way? The cave in and orange cone are not a permanent repair.

The sidewalk is cracked and creates an unsafe environment for neighbors in a senior living community. I have treated for weeds to keep cracks from getting larger but this is a safety hazard for young and old.
