wall street bike lanes are incredibly dangerous, I have been nearly run over biking several times. Grove street right next door parallel to wall st has a bike lane that goes towards college st with traffic, elm st, going away from college st, has no bike lane and is an incredibly busy street. WHY in the world would you make the bike lane on wall st (denoted by the red arrow) AGAINST the traffic direction (denoted by green arrow) when there are NO other parallel streets going in the direction AWAY from college st with safe bike lanes? I go down this street the same way as car traffic because it is the safest option around there, and yet i either nearly get run over by bikes if i go the wrong way in the bike lane, or nearly run over by a car if i go the right direction in the car lane. this is a simple fix, and the design as it is actually makes biking down that street even more dangerous than having no bike lane at all (people need to have a way to bike in both directions in the area, no one is JUST going to work, we bike home from work too).

While the new bike lane delineator is helpful for most of the stretch of George street, there is a very dangerous intersection. At the intersection with College, due to parked vehicles all the way up to the intersection, cars turning right from George street to College street do not see the cyclists going straight and crossing that intersection. At least 2 parkings should be removed to give more visibility to cyclists and a yield sign to ensure drivers watch out for bikes. Someone could easily die here. I was involved in a near-miss accident myself just this week.

During morning pick up at Amistad Elementary, there are buses parked in the travel lane waiting to drop students off This has forced cars (and other busses as pictured) to drive in the bike lane while children and families cross the street with the aid of the crossing guard This arrangement is has profoundly felt unsafe for me when I bike, walk, and drive down Edgewood in the morning An alternative solution needs to be found to improve student drop off and pick up her while also respecting the needs of car and bike traffic i
  • 769-775 Orange St New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - East Rock
Rampant illegal parking blocking crosswalks all along Orange st in front of the cafes and shops by drivers. Please put out cones or flexiposts next to cross walks to stop this unsafe behavior.
  • 229-237 Edgewood Ave New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - Dwight
Car parked in the bike lane after pulling off from the street, delineators needed here. Parking only does so much, when cars aren’t parked people seem to like to park in the bike lane.
