  • Orange St & Trumbull St New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - New Haven
Drivers run this red light with impunity. Can we please get some bike lane delineators to narrow the lane and give this intersection a little bit of a road diet. Speed at this intersection is also a major problem as drivers coming off the highway accelerate to make the light. Automatic enforcement should be installed here ASAP. Conditions are dangerous and the city knows about it but is taking no action. At what point does that become willful negligence.
  • Edwards St & Foster St New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - Bishop-Hine
Recently installed bike lanes on Edwards St are paint only and not protected. The board of alder-approved Safe Routes For All plan shows this block of Edwards St as "protected bike lane." What's the point of a plan if it will not be followed?
  • 152-204 Crescent St New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - Beaver Hills
bike lane delineators or some kind of barrier needed in the cycle track buffer on crescent st like the other section south of the roundabout. cars keep parking in the buffer area instead of properly centered in the space which defeats the purpose of having a buffer for the door zone. also a bike signal could be used at the fournier traffic light as its not very comfortable to cross there just guessing when its time to cross.
  • Alden Ave & Edgewood Ave New Haven, CT, 06515, USA - Westville
Quite literally 90% of the bike lane delineators are gone now. A recent article in the NHI had the director of transportation/traffic quoted as saying that when the delineators are knocked down they will simply be replaced in kind. Is this the most sustainable solution - to keep paying for new bendy sticks that last 3 months and dont provide any protection? I would rather my tax dollars go towards an actual durable solution that doesnt have to constantly be replaced and that physically protects bike riders, like concrete barriers or curbs. This delineator debacle is not contributing to future support of bike lanes in the community.
  • 12 Hillhouse Ave New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - Downtown
Can the City install a contra flow bike lane on hillhouse ave. Or remove the parking and install a protected 2way cycle track?
  • 116 Derby Ave New Haven, Connecticut, 06511 - West River
almost all the bike lane delineators are knocked down and or missing please hurry and put them back up , as their are many bicycle riders in the area
  • 51-57 Wall St New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - Downtown
RE: New bike lane on Wall St
At Temple and Wall a stop sign was added for the newly created bike lane for bikes traveling west bound on Wall st. This sign is clearly visible for cars exiting the parking lot between the church and existing building. When visitors see the stop sign they assume Wall st is two-way traffic and turn left to go to Temple. Driving the wrong way. Wall St is one way east bound. Something needs to be done to alert drivers leaving the parking lot that Wall St is one way east. Since the bike lanes creation I have seen 8-10 drivers go the wrong way. Prior to the bike lane, I honestly can't remember any.
  • 399-405 George St New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - Dwight
George street is a highly passing street with fast cars but no protected bike lane, it would be great to have a protected bike lane here.
  • 303-399 Cedar St New Haven, CT, 06519, USA - New Haven - Ward 03
add delineators to yellow bike lane for entire block. bike lane is always parked in by food vendors with zero enforcement. or just make it a legal parking lane on the left side as well which will bring traffic calming to the street and make it feel safer to bike in the lane,.
  • 963-971 Chapel St New Haven, CT, 06510, USA - Town_Green
just adding another ticket for documentation purposes, that the city’s lack of delineator installation allows drivers to park like this and block the bus stop and create an impassable dead end in the bikelane
  • 315-349 Lighthouse Rd New Haven, CT, 06512, USA - East Shore
Why bother having a meeting asking people what they want if you're not going to listen? Why do we not get bike lanes whether or not there's any opposition? Why pretend you care about the environment when you won't even put some paint down so that biking doesn't mean fearing for your life?

Without delineators/protection, this bike lane makes the road more dangerous for people on bikes than if it didn't exist at all. You can see in the picture how the woman biking in front of me is now squeezed between the truck and passing cars, and there is almost always a vehicle in the bike lane because of the dorms and the post office. It would be an inconvenience for a car to have to pass a vehicle parked in the car lane, but to someone on a bike it's terrifying to get squeezed because a vehicle is parked in the bike lane.
