Trash & Recycling IssuesAcknowledged8 Dennison Avenue Swampscott, MA, 01907, USA - SwampscottThis property has been abandoned for some time. When I walk my dogs in the evening I typically see a rat or 2 scurry towards the house (disgusting) I can only assume this is a health and safety issue for the neighborhood.

Trash & Recycling IssuesAcknowledged64 Fuller Avenue Swampscott, MA, 01907, USA - SwampscottThis house has had a dumpster in front of it for several years. Trucks (not belonging the residents) pull up and dump their trash in it. This is in violation of by-laws that limit the amount of time a residence can have a dumpster in front of it, as well as who can put trash in it.

Trash & Recycling IssuesAcknowledged4 Valley Road Swampscott, Massachusetts, 01907 - SwampscottConstant re-placement of huge dumpsters in driveway for past 3 years (no permits), trash constantly left out all week, no upkeep or maintenance of lot, 2 pigs on property, massive rat infestation. Entire neighborhood has complained about the state of this unsafe property in addition to numerous calls to police for domestic disputes, noise and rodent complaints. We do not feel safe outside in our own neighborhood. I have already had to pay for pest services on my own property, but that does nothing when they continue to breed and feed them across the street. My next step will be looking into private nuisance violations. In any other town or city this property would be in violation of so many laws. Many of the neighbors on Valley Road are ready to seek the help of an attorney.

-
2-14 Overhill Rd Swampscott, MA, 01907, USA - SwampscottThis is what happens when you remove the barrel. People don’t bother picking up after their dog because there’s nowhere to put it. Please put the barrel back.

Trash & Recycling IssuesAcknowledged77 Pine Street Swampscott, MA, 01907, USA - SwampscottPine St. is experiencing a rodent problem. The rodents feed/thrive on poor trash management. Rodents are in and out of the trash at 77 Pine St all the time. This pic was taken on Thursday, by Monday (trash day), the trash bags will be all over the ground. The landlord of these units is not supplying his tenants with overflow bags, or the tenants are not purchasing them themselves. The overflow bags could be placed in the 'old' barrels (seen on the left of the pic), thus keeping all trash bags in barrels with lids and out of reach of the rodents. Something needs to be done about this, or we'll never reduce the rodent/disease threat on this street filled with children.

Trash & Recycling IssuesAcknowledged54 Foster Road Swampscott, Massachusetts, 01907 - SwampscottI am a neighbor of the property of 54 Foster Road.
One photo depicts the backyard grass which hasn’t been cut in a year in a half.
There are animals that have taken up residence in the overgrown grass and get into my yard at night.
Last weekend my dog killed a rabbit that could have possibly come in from that property.
The second picture depicts trash that has been left on the stoop for two and a half weeks.
As you again can see animals have gotten into the trash and is of grave concern.
Last week while cutting my lawn a wild Turkey was feeding off the trash and had to keep my head on a swivel for concern the turkey might attack.
I would appreciate the matter being addressed.
Thank you! -
Trash & Recycling IssuesAcknowledged59 Franklin Avenue Swampscott, Massachusetts, 01907 - Swampscott
The resident at 59 Franklin has disposed of an old carpet by leaving it on the parkway. It has been here rotting for about two months. Can we please advise the resident to take care of this?
Hate to see the neighborhood deteriorate.
