    Following a report by one or more neighbors, Anne Arundel County Police woke us with a knock at about 6:40 this morning to advise us that they were about to shoot a struggling, sick deer they had dragged from the edge of the road surface near our driveway in the Powderhorn Way cul de sac. Prior to putting the deer down with two gunshots, they moved it approximately 50 feet into the County owned woodland adjacent the North side of the house. When I advised the senior officer that neighborhood children commonly play in that area of the woods, he indicated we should contact Animal Control for removal and that he would add a note for the dispatcher to enter a request as well.
