A couple of weeks back they replaced water pipes on the street to sidewalk. When laying the cement they left a huge gap between the driveway and the sidewalk and the front of the flower bed. It’s a hazard. When winter comes it’s going to be a issue for myself getting in my drive way. This is the second complaint I’ve made about this issue and nothing has been done.

Another prime example of road construction going on and absolutely no notification that the street you’re currently driving on is closed and you cannot go all the way through so you must turn around and go back the way you came. I’m unsure why it is such a hassle to provide residents notification at the beginning of a street at the street is in fact closed.
  • Blomerth St & Lilly St Malden, Massachusetts, 02148 - Malden Ward 3

Several houses lost water overnight because the temp water lines froze. We are concerned about our pipes bursting the next time that overnight temps drop below freezing (Friday night, according to current forecast). We would normally have the lines to our outdoor spigot turned off by now, but that is not possible because it is our current water source.

Some of our neighbors are already on the new water line, but many are still on the surface temporary line.

Can someone please update the residents on what is going on? It's getting too late in the season for the temp water lines.

The street is borderline un-drivable as the majority of the road and side walk are very uneven with large dips, bumps and cracks. The uneven state of the road has worsened considerably due to the quick patching method over sections torn up by construction crews and cracks have deepened as heavy construction vehicles have driven over and parked numerous days on the road and sidewalks alike.

When you need our cars moved from driveways and off street for water project please provide more notice than a knock at the door in the morning!!!
  • 29 Corey Road Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 3
Corey road was recently resurfaced with new curbing. The problem is that between 29. Corey road driveway and 51 Corey curbing or some type of berm / curbing wasn’t installed to stop the flow of water from going behind the newly installed curb causing extreme washout of my lawn. Currently I have sandbags to stop the flow. Additional pictures available if needed.. Sincerely Gregory Rogers 51 Corey Rd

I am again curious why road work is being done in the Linden School area and as a home owner in that area I find this out due to a detour sign in front of my driveway? Could you please notify the neighborhood before having a major detour running through it all day?
  • Poplar St Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 5
Tufts Construction is replacing the water main on Poplar St. Residents were given a letter from the City Engineering Dept on July 19 stating the "during construction, trenches and other excavated areas will be backfilled and patched." This has not happened and has caused a severe dust problem in the neighborhood. The trenches have been backfilled but not patched.
We are not able to keep our windows open because of the dust from the construction.

I’m with Timothy! The only thing is …. THE PROBLEM ISN’T JUST AT THIS LOCATION! It is in several places across the city! I also ClickFixed recently about the Cross/Bryant St intersection/roadway and then noticed the exact same issue at Route 60 and Main Street! THIS IS JUST CRAZY! People don’t obey the lines and markings when they are painted! WITHOUT THEM THERE IS TOTAL CHAOS!

Hoping the line painting is happening city-wide sooner rather than later! Leaving the roads as/is is EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND DANGEROUS for both pedestrians AND motorists! The sooner the painting takes place the safer we ALL will be!

    Thanks.

  • 59 Glen Rock Avenue Malden, Massachusetts, 02148 - Malden Ward 3
Glenrock Ave’s road condition is deplorable. The street has experienced heavy construction vehicles from Melrose (Brazil St) last fall and all summer to the ongoing Malden gas upgrades. It feels like a small earthquake in my house each time a truck or school bus passes by plus items are falling to the floor from the vibrations. I’m not sure how to solve this problem but would appreciate it if you could think of something.
