  • Clifton St & Linden Ave Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 4
This stop sign on the intersection of Clifton and Linden Ave. heading towards Main Street is set back from the road and we have seen a number of people blow right past it. Seems like an accident waiting to happen and have heard this from a number of other Maldonians. If possible to move closer to the road it would be much more visible.
  • 59 Glen Rock Avenue Malden, Massachusetts, 02148 - Malden Ward 3
Glenrock Ave’s road condition is deplorable. The street has experienced heavy construction vehicles from Melrose (Brazil St) last fall and all summer to the ongoing Malden gas upgrades. It feels like a small earthquake in my house each time a truck or school bus passes by plus items are falling to the floor from the vibrations. I’m not sure how to solve this problem but would appreciate it if you could think of something.
  • Poplar St Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 5
Tufts Construction is replacing the water main on Poplar St. Residents were given a letter from the City Engineering Dept on July 19 stating the "during construction, trenches and other excavated areas will be backfilled and patched." This has not happened and has caused a severe dust problem in the neighborhood. The trenches have been backfilled but not patched.
We are not able to keep our windows open because of the dust from the construction.
  • 494 Medford Street Malden, Massachusetts, 02148 - Malden Ward 2
The recent lane change configuration at the intersection of Medford St. and the Fellsway has created a situation where vehicles traveling east on Medford Street are going over double yellow line to access the left turn line. Before this change, vehicles traveling east would access the left turn lane if they were turning left OR going straight through the intersection onto Central St. Medford. Now vehicles traveling straight OR turning right are in the right lane - creating a long line of traffic further back on Medford St. Drivers appear to get frustrated and go over the double yellow line to access the left lane ahead. Additionally, thee seems to be a shorter time allowance on the green arrow for those turning left onto the Fellsway, This has created a very dangerous situation outside my home at 494 Medford Street particularly between 7:15 - 7:45 AM on weekday mornings. On numerous occasions since school has been back in session, we have almost been hit by vehicles crossing the double-yellow line near our home. I will reach out to the state police also as I think they oversee the Fellsway as a road. The intersection lights need to go back to the old configuration/timing. We have lived here since 2013 and prior to the change at the lights, this was never a problem. Thank you!
  • 63 Robert'S Street Extension Malden, Massachusetts, 02148 - Malden Ward 8
Hi, I previously submitted this issue. Recently there has been street repair near our area but they stopped right where the Roberts Street extension begins. I do not understand why. Our Robert Street extension is very uneven with big holes and patches of asphalt added by Nation grid when they did the gas line repairs. Could you please pave our extension street as well?
  • 147 Beltran Street Malden, Massachusetts, 02148 - Malden Ward 3
The sidewalk was redone with concrete.
A tree hole was cut out.
Then months later the tree hole was filled with asphalt.
    1) Is this the final outcome part concrete and part asphalt? If so the town needs a better engineer.
    2) If the asphalt will be removed and a tree planted - when will this be done?
    3) If we had known the hole was to be filled with asphalt we would have planted flowers.
    4) This degrades the Town of Malden and looks like town officials have no clue as to what they are doing.
  • 413 Broadway Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 8

Our taxes should be used to repair the awful road conditions on this HEAVILY traveled road mostly between Glenmere Ave and Salem St.

Cracks, potholes, humps, dips, utility covers sunken down too far as well as broken ones. We’re taxed so many ways to drive on these roads that are in disrepair.

Eastern Ave & Centre streets are also just as bad. How can anyone think that these two MAIN roads which are heavily traveled is in passable condition for motorists to be driving on with causing drastic wear and tear on our vehicles. Times are tough and we all can’t afford to be repairing or replacing our vehicles that we are also taxed on. Fix it and stop brushing it off like there isn’t any issue here!

  • 54 Beltran Street Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 3
The street crossing at the intersection of Jackson and Exchange has not been reconfigured to accommodate the handicapped. The recent work has not restored beveled sidewalk pathways for pedestrians crossing Exchange St. near the Jackson Street Garage.
  • 174 Beltran St Malden MA 02148, United States - Malden Ward 3
My personal property was damaged during the public sidewalk reconstruction yesterday. When removing the sidewalk concrete it seems the machine also completely lifted 8 ft of my front walkway which is now broken and cracked. How can this get repaired?
  • 8 Murray Hill Road Malden, Massachusetts, 02148 - Malden Ward 3

The retaining wall of my property at 8 Murray Hill Road has become significantly damaged during the road work and sidewalk work occurring over the past 2 months. The major cracks were not present prior to the jack hammering and construction activities and require repair.

I've received a quote for the repairs, totaling $10,000. Photographs from before the construction began show that the wall did not have these significant cracks (see attached photograph).

  • 27 Oliver St Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 8
Sewer backing up into house drain. The sewer line collapsed during construction on water line. Verified by drain service company with camera inspection.
  • Highland Ave & Pine St Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 3
Sidewalk has sunk below street at handicap accessible entrance. Tripping hazard.
